In terms of the creative process for this album, I wanted to develop new production techniques using only field recordings recorded in my area with modular synthesis and effects pedals while altering the sound with tape recorders in some tracks to add an even more lively, organic and random touch.

The story I wish to tell is the initiatory journey of a man of spirituality, Milarepa who learned witchcraft in his youth and who for an ancient revenge used black magic against his enemies. But driven by remorse and purified by the trials of an old sage whose disciple he asks to become, he succeeds thanks to the teachings passed on to him and to his life as a hermit, in attaining awareness. His journey has inspired many people over the centuries and hopefully continues to inspire a generation seeking mysticism and hope today.

The other little story I had fun doing with the titles of these tracks is that you can read the 6 names in a row as if they were one sentence, as a summary of the stages of this man's life and also to reinforce the fact that the album is to be listened to in the intended order as it tells a story with an established chronology forming a coherent whole.

Today we listen to a live session recorded especially for our podcast by the producer and live performer. Lokom cut his teeth in Grenoble where he discovered the electronic underground scene in the 2000s. He quickly developed a passion for live and especially FM synthesis. An avid bass music with tangy trend, Lokom now works under the banner of experimentation analog-psyche-conductive.

1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

 - I’m not sure it's a hard question the best would to ask them lol, realy i don't know, maybe the Warp label sound design, and maybe the Spiral tribe, it's techno music nothing about what I’m doing actualy but they had an artistic influence probalby.

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

 - The label that follow me the more is Abstrakt Reflections, they are planning a VA early 2023 and I’m blessed, I’ll colaborate with a track called "circle mind". I olso work on a IDM abstract hiphop electro EP with a friend from south of france (we don't have send this to any label for now but we will work on this this winter).

 3. Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?
 
- Abstrackt Reflections, Concrete collage.

4. What set-up do you use when creating music?

 - Ableton as a DAW, access virus C for the synths part & elektron machinedrum for spacy weird drums.

Premiere: Samuel Rohrer - The Banality Of Evil

𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒆𝒓𝒆: ǝɯǝɐ - Hopeless [ST058]

ǝɯǝɐ is the musical exploring project of the musician from island of Mallorca (Balearic Islands), Miquel Alzanillas.

His deep interest in technology and avant-garde music inspired him to start producing and DJing at a young age. Since then, he has collaborated on various interdisciplinary projects, both in live performances and sound installations as well as in sound design for audiovisual projects. Currently, he combines ǝɯǝɐ project with designing and developing code for various Python applications.

Since his last release in 2019, he has been working on various audiovisual projects, both in sound design for advertising campaigns and scoring for a feature film.

Now, with his second album, ǝɯǝɐ is set to push his own limits even further, seeking a more digital and processed sound through landscapes that evoke science fiction in a dystopian future.
