Some of us might have gone so deep into the pacey rave sounds of recent times that we’ve forgotten the joy of a warm pad, soulful vocal or moody chord. Some of us might have even avoided certain parts of our record collection for being too slow, too mellow, not anthemic enough or for having to long of an arc. We know people like it hard and fast these days, but deep house has been making a solid return to the scene, with tastemakers from all over the world going back to their roots and giving the foundation of our sound a well-deserved dust off. So what better time no to dive into the vaults of Heist for our best deep house tracks? This vintage collection of 10 of the slickest tracks from our catalog features artists such as Byron the Aquarius, Crackazat, Kassian, Makèz and label Heads Dam Swindle, and will surely make any house lover’s heart go faster. 

Originally released on the quickly sold out ‘Keep on Swindling vol. 1’, ‘All I want’ has everything you’ll ever need in a house track. Catchy vocals, warm chords and a groove that just keeps on going. It’s one of Dam Swindle’s most summery tracks to date that blends the classic sound of the Rhodes piano with modern day electronics. Meanwhile, Marina Trench’ 2021 label debut ‘Sunrise’ has a kind of west-coast beachy breeziness to it; its lead melody drifting by over a relaxed groove. 

DJ Sneak goes even deeper with his loopy track ‘Love can make it happen’. Makèz’ recent hit with L.A. based vocalist Life on Planets is the most recent track on this compilation, but ‘Running from the noise’ just had to be part of this package with its deep soulful US house vibe. Cinthie, Kassian, Orlando Voorn Andy Hart & Byron the Aquarius all contribute to this package with their take on vintage deep house, exploring various levels of energy.  

This package is a testament of the position of Heist within the House scene as a go-to label and shows you that deep house might have been out of the spotlight for a while, but it’s back, stronger than ever.

Building on his fruitful relationship with the London label is Spanish selector David Penn, a Defected House Master whose label catalogue includes quality house cuts like 2020’s ‘Nobody’ featuring Dames Brown as well as celebrated remixes of Pete Heller’s ‘Big Love’, Sandy Rivera’s ‘I Can’t Stop’ and Candi Staton’s ‘Hallelujah Anyway’. Kickstarting this year’s releases, he collaborates with Brazilian titan Vintage Culture, a DJ Mag Top 10 artist for the past two years thanks to his distinct and almighty tech sound that has pounded stages from Tomorrowland to Coachella; also no stranger to the Defected catalogue, his modern house hit ‘Nightjar’ with Sonny Fodera featuring SHELLS received global play. Acclaimed dance music writer and vocalist Raphaella joins these powerhouses with ease, having worked with the likes of MK, Sonny Fodera and Martin Solveig. ‘Just Stay The Night’ brings together all three artists’ signature sounds; David Penn’s impactful piano lines meld with Vintage Culture’s driving basslines and rolling percussion, as Raphaella’s alluring vocals come to the fore for an unforgettable collaboration on Defected.

Snowy peaks emerge from thick cloud cover, just like pointy kickdrums pierce dense plots of smooth chords and dubby synths. LAZIC019 explores high-altitude beats with London-based upcoming artist FLORENTIA and her debut EP, which comes enriched by two remixes by equally talented Andrew Azara (Cecille) and Brad Brunner (Take Notes).

A rising talent on the electronic music circuit with standout performances at Paradise and elrow, FLORENTIA has been on a roll with quality cuts on Circus Recordings and elrow music, among others, and she's now touching moon ground with two elegant, driving minimal tech productions. Title track 'I Found You' marches steadily cool with hypnotic energy and trippy rolling drums, while 'Need No Man' rolls with slinky grooves, bubbling bassline, and catchy vocals that set the tone for echoing stabs to shine flawlessly. Rounding out the package, Andrew Azara offers one of his exquisite trademark full-bodied grooves for a magnificent, late-night ballad, while Brad Brunners keeps things nice and tight with a percussive, stripped-back version.

Brooklyn's HOMAGE returns with its eight release this May, the vinyl-only Stride EP from Demi Riquísimo made up of three Disco infused House cuts.The UK’s producer has been gaining traction over the past few years via a run of releases on his own Semi Delicious imprint as well as remixes for the likes of Chromeo, Elder Island, and HiFi Sean. Here though we see him deliver his first original EP outside of his own label, joining the roster of New York’s HOMAGE, an imprint known for nurturing and exposing rising talent from across the globe even in its relatively early stages itself.‘Makossa’ leads the release with a sun-drenched House feel, fusing a bumpy bass line, resonant synth licks, and swirling vocal chants alongside an organic drum groove before the latter stages ease in a bubbling arpeggio line and emotive string sequences. ‘Stride’ follows next, laying focus on a subtly modulating arp line, guitar noodles, and chopped string samples whilst a swinging rhythm and snaking synth add further fuel to the groove.The EP's closing tune and vinyl only exclusive, ‘Love Russia,’ harkens back to true eighties Disco aesthetics via an amalgamation of funk leaning guitar licks, intricate string melodies, and enchanting synth work. Dynamic drum and effect programming is the last touch needed for a contemporary twist on a classic style.

Berlin's Cinthie has grown to become one of the most revered and respected figures in contemporary electronic music in recent years both in her hometown and across the globe. Her touring schedule regularly sees her playing her inimitable DJ style in hotspot cities like Paris, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Stockholm, Seoul, Osaka, and of course her beloved hometown Berlin .

Djing in said city since the early nineties as a teenager Cinthie's depth of knowledge radiantly shines through in her sets and her productions, which traverse through a broad range of classic and contemporary House and Techno sounds. Recent times have seen Cinthie look inwards towards her aspirations for the future, and as a result, dedicated a huge portion of her time to building her own studio, featuring a wide spectrum of some of the most noteworthy vintage drum machines and synthesizers in existence.

Initially Cinthie made her mark with Diego Krause, Ed Herbst and stevn.aint.leavn as the Beste Modus / Beste Freunde collective, amongst running Unison Wax and We_R House on top of the main labels. Most recently she launched her 803 Crystalgrooves imprint to critical acclaim, a platform which has become a huge focus for her own productions for the foreseeable future as well as the imprint's sub-label Collective Cuts, which as the name suggests, welcomes music from affiliates and friends of the artist. On top of this there’s a burgeoning relationship with Will Saul's Aus imprint where her debut album comes in 2020.
