It took me a long time to decide if I was going to create an album. In the world I made several and after a while it felt redundant. In this walk I don’t want vain glory so I would do a few songs here and there because I love music. This is my form of expression since I was a little kid. If you notice, I’m timid in public speaking but with writing and creating I feel i can do anything ! I pray this project is edifying and pleasing to your ears!

Discern Spirits

The story of Joseph is deep. His mother died as a child. He was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery at age of 18.

Then got put in prison for false allegations from a woman who said he forced himself on her. And was in prison for about 10 years
From the ages of 18 to 30 years old, his whole adult life, all he knew was hurt, betrayal, lies and pain. So now he gets promoted by Pharaoh at the age of 3o and receives a wife Asenath who probably was the first person who truly showed him genuine love besides his parents.
And even Asenath who was born in
Kemet/Egypt who was the daughter of the priest of On who grew up worshipping the
"sun god" now is to marry this foreigner a Hebrew man who serves a God she doesn't know. But she sees the power of the the Most High in Joseph. But she has some hesitancy with trusting him as well.

So the song is about people who struggle with trust issues from the male and female perspective. Me writing from the perspective of Joseph and Halal Yah writing from the perspective of Asenath.
