I start slowly and gently with Fatima Yamaha, which will undoubtedly remain a classic for years to come. After searching eagerly, digging deeply and failing to track down Yotto's Edit, What's a Girl to Do? Well, I'll let Kent Explain. 

Aside: I stumbled over some stones and carvings in the rocks indicating Yotto has no plans to release it. Girl aborts mission.

During the next mission, I managed to knock this hidden gem out of the Barndt – thanks to the jackhammer. Then, suddenly at 11.42, my new heroes take me to places beyond your wildest dreams. Unimaginable places. I can't explain it. 

EUDAIMONIA is an Ancient Greek term with no single-word translation in English. My interpretation is BEING IN YOUR ELEMENT. A state of being totally consumed by feelings of exhilaration. 

How often does this happen to you? For me, these moments have always involved music. Many of the tunes I've mixed ignite a fire within me. If you're not bursting into flames, at least show me some steam.😉

In the broader sense, Eudaimonia reflects an enduring state of fulfilment and 'human flourishing’. But if you have felt like you've had a eudaimonic experience by my definition – being in your element and feeling exhilarated – let me know in the comments what your moment is!

On Sunday 24 September, I had 25 minutes to showcase a lifetime of music I love – in the silence of headphones. But there was nothing silent about this experience. 

The screams and shouts of support and joy from the crowd at the end were beyond belief. 

To the point that it was genuinely hurting my ears – and at a time when 'hearing health' is suddenly your Number 1 Occupational Health and Safety hazard. 

But I endured the pain because I asked for this! 🥰🥰🥰 And blocking your ears would be like rejecting the best compliment you've ever received in your life. 🙏🎶❤️🙏🎶❤️🙏🎶❤️

Being a part of YOUR SHOT has been a wonderful journey in overcoming the fear to be seen, the fear to be heard, and the fear of losing your hearing – for pursuing an art that makes your heart and soul sing, so loudly. 📣❤️‍🔥💥📣❤️‍🔥💥📣❤️‍🔥💥

'Be careful what you wish for' is not a phrase to be taken lightly. This was hands down the most bittersweet 20 seconds of my life. Admittedly, I did cover my ears for a few of those seconds, but I hope you didn't notice 😉.

Ironically, Silence by Delerium, possibly my all-time favourite tune (if I were forced to choose only one) is not featured in this mix. I’ve heard it enough times to last many lifetimes! 😅 

Stay tuned though, as I've recently discovered some delectable Silence remixes by friends/talented DJs/producers, and I may include these in a re-recording of this set (if time was not of the essence).

It's scary to think that before Techno's genes – I mean genres – multiplied and gave birth to Peak Time/Driving, Melodic, Raw/Deep/Hypnotic, Hard, Harder, Hardest, Hardestfastest, there was just, well, Techno. 

Probably the most complex and misunderstood of all genres. Hence the widening of the gen(r)e pool to make some kind of sense out of it. 

It's also a little terrifying to see – and hear – how quickly BPMs have sky-rocketed over the last 5 years or so. Should we be afraid? Maybe. Or maybe not. It's the cycle of life –  and probably a good idea to bust those fears wide open and release them. If you dare. 

I certainly did and dared to dig deep. Well, not really, but I needed some guidance for this mix and 126 was the calling. 

So here it is. 98% pure Techno. With a drop of Tech House, Deep Tech/ Minimal and Melodic. 
100% 126 bpm.

Dear Black Noir team and residents,

Thank you for this opportunity and for listening. 
I hope you enjoy what you’re about to hear (and read), as much as I have curating it. 

There was a danger of overthinking, overcooking and overrecording this mix. 

And despite striving for a ‘perfectly sounding and planned recording’, I had to improvise and make last-minute changes on the fly. So I’ve chosen to submit this untouched version as it’s more reflective of a live set. 

It started when I finally fell in the Xone – and the Creepy Whisper of my soul led me to select this track sequence In Favor of Noise, over aligning the key and BPM.  

Mixing or making music is my Monasterium Sanctum – a medicine that removes the Sadness pervading a life of being Locked Inside society’s norms. 

Happy Ending Vibes celebrate the death of that life and rebirth of a new life Decoherence –  being granted Black Noir Residency.
