Finnish genius @theofficialjorihulkkonen can always be counted on to create something sophisticated and special in the dance sphere. His new opus for Canadian label @my-favorite-robot-records is a stirring string-led epic that's drenched in gentle euphoria. It's part of a two-track release that precedes his next album, coming on the same label: 'Don’t Believe In Happiness'.

Llewellyn seamlessly navigates true a wide array of compelling sound narratives as he returns to Peter Invasion’s always excellent Riotvan imprint with his “San Junipero” EP. Stretching just over the 8-minute mark, the EP’s title track kicks off with a straight hitting beat frame and roughed up clap sequences before slowly introducing its beautifully orchestrated main synth that sees you ride into the Italian Rivièra sunset sometime 1980.

Within the whole retro-mania of '80s induced club music, you rarely find an artist being as deeply immersed in the affective reverberation of old synthesizers as her. Jennifer Touch showcases her immaculate ability to build dance floor-ready bridges between '80s synth-aesthetics, post punk and wave, as she returns to Riotvan with her second artist EP.

Honouring the original by taking in almost everything of the source material, the undisputed one man army Llewellyn, retouches “Chemistry” into a vibrant, dance floor chugger, focussed on Touch’s Postpunk- and Wave-kissed dreariness. Highly recommended!
