Welcome with me MULO from Oslo, Norway! With guest appearances on some of our favorite channels including Planet Ibiza, Epiphany, Deep House Sweden and more, we've come to admire his sound.

French born MULO has always loved a variety of music from Reggae to Post Rock, but the rhythms of African music especially fascinated him. From an early age he learned to play various African percussions, such as djembe, derbuka and dum dum, in addition to drums.

After visits to various European festivals and clubbing in Berlin, he bought his first equipment in 2016 and started mixing at home for himself and for friends. Soon after he was warming up in Fisk og Vilt and Uhørt, in Oslo, Norway with a blend of House, Nu-Disco and Deep House.

After discovering artists such as Moblack, Hyenah, Mr Raoul K, and Djuma Soundsystem, he realised that it was possible to combine his passion for deep house and his love for African rhythms.

Today, MULO distils a clever mix of Afro House and Deep House tinted with sparkles of percussions and musical elements from different cultures.

MULO is one of the member of Epiphany club concept in Oslo. (@epiphanyoslo)

Synästhesie is the german translation for synesthesia, a disorder that assigns a different perception to a sensory stimulation.
This is the concept behind the music project created by Emiliano Di Clemente and Simone Mancin: two minds that perceive different sensations and merge to create a unique vision. In 2014 in Torino (IT), they have their first encounter and begin to collaborate, thanks to the shared love for various music genres such as progressive house, new wave, electronica and techno.

Their tracks has been supported by Tale Of Us, Øostil, SOEL and other artists. Their sets stand out for the use of melody and the great variety of sound and genres that characterizes the whole project.

Fabi and Marcus first met in 2012 in the region of Frankfurt/Germany, seeking to create together and to follow their passion. Since that time no minute has passed for them without thinking about their creations and how to develop progressions further, going deeper and making a more worthwhile statement in their tracks. With releases on Phobiq, Reload, Gain and more, they’re heading in a direction where groove is coupled with deep emotional melodies and mixed with some Techno. 

Their recent release on the well-known Traum Schallplatten even fortifies their effort to bring their melodies to the dancefloor. By combining the best from earlier days of Techno and House Music with current state of art sound, each track tells his own story, which takes you on a journey to different places. And that's the whole formula they rely on. In their tracks and in their sets, everything is special and unique, there is no set like the other and no track like the other.

Bio:
Døc is a musical project by Irish DJ and producer Darren Doherty. A well established name on the Irish clubbing scene, Døc’s first real experience of dance music happened after he snuck into a nightclub at the tender age of fifteen, instantly falling in love with the tunes, atmosphere and vibes, Doherty promised himself that one day he would return to the club, Privilege, Longford, as a DJ. He then devoted himself to achieving that goal and eventually enjoyed a very successful residency there.

With over twenty year’s worth of experience behind the decks, it’s safe to say that Døc is an artist who has truly mastered his craft. Based in Sligo, the home to clubbing in the west of Ireland, Døc has been controlling crowds in the region with his genre hopping brand of deep, progressive and techy basslines for well over a decade, never failing to lift the energy in a room and create an atmosphere that keeps people coming back and begging for more. Having played in many of Ireland’s biggest and most popular venues, Døc has played a number of international shows, most notably at the Circle Warehouse Party London, Sankeys Ibiza, Eden Ibiza, Circle Miami and Hï Ibiza, supporting the likes of Danny Howells, Clive Henry and Alex Arnout in the process.

Døc is also an extremely accomplished producer, having been making his own original productions for over ten years. He has a string of successful releases behind him, both as part of the Døc project and under other aliases. He has had a number of tracks signed to Suro Recordings including his collaboration with Marc de Pulse on the track Birthing Star, released in September 2017. Døc’s music has received support from some real heavy hitters in the industry, including Nick Warren, one of the world’s best known progressive DJs.

Døc currently holds several local and international residencies, including slots at Spiral Tree, Longford and appearances with Circle Experience in London, Ibiza, Miami & Berlin. He also often plays guest slots with some of Ireland’s leading club brands in venues up and down the country. With a regular podcast series, Døc-Cast and Døc's Picks and his new residency on Ibiza Club News radio, it is evident that Doherty is one of the hardest working DJs currently on the Irish scene, and one that is set to be here for many years to come.

BIO:
Nora was born in Essen and raised in a small town near Münster in Germany. After her studies, she moved to Cologne in 2017.

Art has always been fascinating to Nora. She started to paint as a teen, and she's has been dancing since she was able to listen to music. In 2016 she fell in love with Techno and in 2020 she gave in to the irresistible call and found her place in the DJ booth.

Nora loves art that makes her smile even on the rainiest day. Her paintings are as colorful, bright and diverse as her sets. They come with a great variation across genres: melodic techno, bouncy tech house...deep and dark techno...melodic house, epic and dramatic peaks and valleys--all with her distinct flair.

Peter and Moritz from Marburg met each other at work and began playing together behind the decks four years ago. They started to really identify with electronic music leading them to co-organize their own techno parties in their hometown.

After winning two well-known DJ contests, they received invitations to play two large festivals in Germany. In 2017, they had their first international gig at a Belgium techno festival.

To describe their sound, they focus on smooth and imperceptible transitions and a diversified track selection within the genres of Deep House, Tech House, and Techno.

Durch den Gewinn gleich zweier DJ-contests durften sie auch schon auf den großen Bühnen der Szene spielen. 2017 folgte der erste internationale Auftritt auf einem belgischen Festival.In der Heimat trifft man sie immer wieder mal im KFZ, der Cavete oder dem Nachtsalon an. Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany but originally connected to the roots of the beautiful island of Mauritius, MEL BELL began her musical journey as a child. She played on various instruments to create her own melodies and thus set the course for the path to electronic music. 

With releases on Pipe & Pochet, Run After Records, Aftertech, and Vision 3 Records, her strengths lie in the development of melodies and creating that special groove. For her, music is a deep feeling that is marked by freedom and self determination. It is the happiness of a soul to be able to decide this moment by yourself.

MEL BELL — C&P Podcast #35

This week we welcome the talented DJ/Producer Elliot Moriarty from London!

Weaving together deep house sounds in an impressively coherent and enjoyable journey, Elliot also demonstrates considerable skill as a producer. His new track Flawless Whispers (@threerecordsuk) is well worth a listen.

He started experimenting with and exploring music at 11 years old and was inspired by the likes of Sasha, Nick Warren, Seb Fontaine, Tall Paul and Judge Jules. It was clear from this early age that music was his real passion, which is why he remains determined and focused more than ever, as this passion has grown enormously over the years.

Elliot started off DJing at local parties and events, until he was 20 years old, when the mighty Ministry of Sound came calling. It was obvious at this point that he had a natural talent for the craft, and this was noticed immediately. Off the back of this first major gig, he successfully secured several bookings and went on to play at venues including Pacha, Eden, Cable, Lightbox, Egg, and also the now World famous We Are FSTVL.

As Elliot’s journey progressed, his desire to make his own music became ever more apparent. He began making edits of tracks he admired, eventually releasing his own productions. His debut release on the infamous Seamless Recordings is a true statement of his sound. The track which is entitled “Elixir”, has been described as “nine minutes of blissful enthusiasm”, and reached number 3 in the labels top 10 most popular releases chart on Beatport; nestling itself nicely amongst the likes of Lee Burridge, Matthew Dekay, Ian Pooley, Joe T Vanelli and Hot Since 82.

Her eclectic upbringing, from the French capital of Canada to a Peruvian household, from her dancing career in classical ballet to rhythmic flamenco, has opened a space for music to be her guidance and one and only anchor. This mixed spectrum of music influences translates into sets where she infuses together deep bass and layers of hopeful riffs that not only fill the space but also caters to her obsession of taking you on a journey.

In addition to being an active member of the music scene in Montreal, Sinca has performed abroad in France, New York, the Dominican Republic and Prague. As she turns her attention to production, we can expect the same level of quality and passion. Keep an eye on her!

Ablekid aka Daniel Moore is a veteran DJ/producer from the famous Orlando underground now living in Austin, TX. The early 90’s underground music scene in Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Florida was for Daniel home, and the place he began his 27 year and counting sonic voyage of discovery. Surrounded by a plethora of musical talent and with one of America’s greatest underground clubs (Aahz) on his doorstep, Danny’s journey into dance music was as fortuitous as it was inevitable. After picking up a set of decks in 2000, he started buying vinyl by the crate-load and honing his skills – a small following developed.

Fast-forward to a move to the musical hotbed of Austin, Texas in 2009, the Ablekid moniker has seen success in various forms. Now signed to Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music imprint, along with older releases on Christian Lang’s Kindred Recordings (Paris) and Rapid Fire Records (Miami), Daniel has also fostered relationships with many promo services by becoming part of the esteemed Release Promo roster in 2014.

His continued success in the US underground is a combination of effective crate digging, silky smooth DJ skills and just the right amount of grit and determination. His mixes and productions are the result of all this hard work and shows a depth of knowledge and attention to detail that has seen his heroes rule the underground for many wonderful tune filled years.

Having honed his taste and skills in live performance in the UK, Dan has returned to his natural habitat where his immersion in nature proves a potent source of inspiration for his technically interesting and genre defying creations.

Ultimately Dan makes music purely for the love of it, which shines through in his productions.

Doga Erbek — C&P Podcast #42

For this Munich based duo, music has always been a connection on a higher level that linked them just like invisible strings. At some point it became a logical decision to leave the dancefloor and to reach out for the decks. The producer and DJ collective Adelante was born.

The name Adelante originates from the term that is widely used in Spain and South America and paraphrases "onward & upward" which is the subliminal credo of the boys.

Lines drawn between single genres like Melodic Techno, Afro-House and Dark Disco are effortlessly blended within their productions and DJ sets as they often contain moving and percussive elements as well as melodic and deep ones.

Adelante is proud resident at the legendary Harry Klein Club, Munich. Their own, sometimes even unpublished, productions are frequently dropped during their shows.

In 2020 Adelante focused on their own productions and published two EPs on the spanish label of Alpha Black. The EPs include four energetic tracks by Adelante and four great remixes by Beatamines, Søren Laga, Robin Schellenberg and Faide. Their music was listed in the Beatport Hype Charts for several weeks and ranked #46 in Melodic House and Techno and Progressive House.

Zoi (CA) was born in Karachi, Pakistan and helped cultivate his local electronic music scene by creating safe spaces for Pakistani revellers to experience techno and house music. He eventually moved to Toronto, Canada, where he pursued technical training in sound while developing a knack for music production. As a producer, Zoi focuses on creating complex soundscapes and deep melodies; all characterized by ethereal twilight overtones. Equal parts musician, and equal parts sound engineer, Zoi endeavours to capture ethereal and moody sounds that aim to embody the complexities of human experience.
