Who killed JackWasFaster?

Was it the post‑pandemic skyrocketing BPMs and the slow death of soul in club music? The exhausting 90s revival — dredging up even its least glorious moments? Maybe it was the nightlife crowd: more “intense,” with Jäger‑tainted breath, white-powdered noses, and the same recycled small‑talk clichés. Or the current musical climate, obsessed with constant novelty over meaningful transformation. Perhaps it was the mainstreaming of tacky spectacle — DJs dressed as mermaids, horses, or bullfighters — a bargain‑basement sublimation of kitsch.

Or maybe it was suicide. A slow collapse brought on by the inability to find new ways to express oneself in this environment; the blur between conviction and inertia; the endless déjà‑vu; the weariness; the age. Like in Murder on the Orient Express, maybe everyone took a stab.

This posthumous EP gathers the final tracks JackWasFaster worked on, a re‑imagined take on his debut cut Bitter Pill, and a blistering remix from Anatolian Weapons. Maybe they’ll help crack the case. Or maybe one day JackWasFaster will rise from the dead.

JackWasFaster - Spiaggia La Pelosa [Rotten City Files]

Circuit Bent were manufactured inside the bowels of a top secret laboratory for the purpose of being super soldiers hell bent on world domination. After the mad scientists realized the true nature of the monsters they had created they tried to destroy the foul creatures they had spawned but were overwhelmed by the sonic insanity and bled to death from their ears. To this day the location of Circuit Bent is unknown, but their presence on the internet is evidence that the world is still not safe from the global menace lurking around the corner.
