The ever-prolific and established artist Alan Abrahams aka Portable makes a swift and very welcome return to Circus Company with the impressive lead single “Guiding Me”, giving us an early taste of his forthcoming album Augmented Dreams to be released in the fall.

Conceptually the direction of this new project refers to the use of technology to alter our dreams, inadvertently or not, as so much tech advancement becomes available and ingrained in our daily lives. The timely lead single here inspired by Abraham’s South African ancestors the Khoi San people and the guidance they provide, appropriately exuding both futurist formed sonics and dream-like tenderness in content, led by his dulcet-toned vocals and delivered with the super solid production we’ve come to expect. Wonderful multi-purpose electronic music which will find itself right at home on late-night discerning dance floors, or indeed guiding the listener through their respective travels, solo meditations or get-downs in headphones.

Along with the excellent “Guiding Me” original mix, we are graced with a masterful remix by Hamburg’s Lawrence of Smallville and Dial fame, who takes the track into an even more floor-focussed realm with his patented rolling sub-bass lines which will guarantee plenty of summertime sound system finessing, as well as the EP-exclusive B2 track “Vigor” in which Portable goes even deeper in tone with classic styled vocal cut-ups and repurposed shards of tasty sound design added to keep the dancers endlessly entranced when and wherever they may be.

Announcing Portable’s new album, out October 13th. Now that the smoke has settled after his My Sentient Shadow LP in 2022, the Paris based South African producer comes back in fine form with a new full-length LP, Augmented Dreams and drops a fresh first single tilted 'The Color of Static' (premiered here) which will be available on all platforms from tomorrow September 15th. Alan Abrahams let his instinctual side fly again with a surprising broken beat feels track. Portable once again moved our senses with his deep vibes and hypnotic grooves across seven slowly-building minutes.

@portable-aka-bodycode gears up to release his next LP 'Augmented Dreams' on @circuscompany, landing on October 13.

The second single from the record is a downtempo cut layering brooding vocals. "'The Pull of Time' is a reflection on the cyclic nature of time, be it politics, fashion or music," Portable muses.

Both equalling ten tracks each, the latter titled, Augmented Dreams explores the various, corners of sparse and minimal, electronic music. For those in the know, The Mole is perhaps one of the most influential underground House music producers of all time. They don’t call him The Mole for nothing, he digs deep and encapsulates the true spirit of the genre and there’s few producers who’s catalogue has been as widely sought after and respected as his. Anyone who’s anyone who plays House music likely has more than a few of his records locked and loaded in the crates or on a stick.

For many years he has released music on the likes of Perlon, Ostgut Ton, Sound Of Vast, Kompakt, Internasjonal and more. More recently he has formed an affiliation and connection with Circus Company on which he has released both EP’s and albums.

Speaking of which he has a new record out, a deconstructed beat tape of sorts based upon influences from Hip Hop and cassettes alongside his deep rooted love of House music.

This mix follows soon after and to be honest, it’s one we’ve been excited about receiving for some time. The Mole is a bit of a legend round these parts.

After three stunning, floor-fired EPs from the label boss himself, Deetron takes his burgeoning Character imprint to a whole new level of depth and diversity with old friends and new.

Ripperton takes the lead. Last spotted on Character on its inaugural outing alongside label bossman Deetron as Roots Panorama, he lays down an agelessly silky, star-lit groove that's progressive in its direction but soulful in its message thanks to some fine-tuned falsetto sprinkles. Complete with an equally luxurious instrumental, it's another example of Ripperton's own-league precision.

Dig deeper for three jazz-tinted adventures from longstanding musician, serial collaborator and serious soloist Carlos Nilmmns.

Collaboratively penned with his brother Niko Marks, 'Dark Ages' is a 3am whirlwind of blue lights and smoke machines. Perfectly positioned to be played in 1995, 2005 or 2015, it celebrates the most enduring elements of pure house music with deep, Detroit-focussed charm.

'A Beautiful Afternoon' follows, and reminds us of Carlos's 15 years pro musicianship stripes: Dusty, dreamy waves of pianos ebb and flow over a slim-line slinky percussive spine, rippling and reeling as woozy trumpets breeze in and out of the mix.

Finally Carlos rekindles his creative partnership with iconic 21st century poet and vocalist Keter Darker. Taking off where 'Universal Beauty' left us on Circus Company earlier this year, Carlos lays down a relentless jazz-licked jack while Keter's stern spoken word joins the dots, reminding us that the past is not so distant anymore... And the future needs to change.
