Synthetik Sounds Unveils Star-Studded Compilation to Support LA Fire Relief Efforts
Los Angeles, CA – January 27, 2025 – Los Angeles techno label Synthetik Sounds is proud to announce the release of a powerful 39-track Various Artists compilation featuring an extraordinary lineup of global techno talent. In a time of urgent need, 100% of proceeds from the compilation will be donated to LA Fire Relief Funds, supporting communities affected by the devastating wildfires that created havoc in the Los Angeles area in January 2025.

In January 2025, the Palisades and Eaton wildfires in Los Angeles County burned over 37,000 acres, destroyed more than 16,000 structures, caused at least 29 fatalities, and led to the evacuation of over 200,000 residents, affecting many in the underground techno and house community in our city.
When we asked artists to contribute to a V/A release to help our community, we found ourselves overwhelmed by the amount of support we received.
This monumental release unites over 40 cutting-edge artists, all contributing their signature sounds to this meaningful cause. From techno veterans to rising stars, the compilation is a showcase of boundary-pushing artistry and the unity of the electronic music community.

BCCO Premiere: Ø [Phase] - Never Alone [SYNTHETIK SOUNDS 007]

For our 10th podcast release, we welcome Tsukuyomi, the alias of Tbilisi-based DJ and producer Dadu Dzagnidze. Since starting his musical journey in 2020, Tsukuyomi has been shaping a distinctive sound—fast-paced, raw, and experimental—deeply influenced by his time spent on the dancefloor. The atmosphere of local clubs and the artistry of talented Georgian DJs played a key role in developing his approach to music.

His connection to sound runs deep, having explored various genres since childhood and even playing guitar for a time. However, it was in 2018, through a growing passion for techno, that his musical perspective truly evolved. Two years later, he started DJing and collecting records, and soon after, he delved into music production. Now, he is preparing to debut his first live set, alongside upcoming self-releases and future projects.

When it comes to inspiration, Yanamaste stands out as a major influence. Beyond music, he finds creativity in graphic design, anime, and camping, alongside quality time with friends. Lately, you’ll find him looping "The World In Devotion" by November Növelet, a track that resonates deeply with him.

As for clubs that left a mark, KHIDI and Bassiani are at the top of his list—spaces that have not only shaped his musical vision but continue to push the underground scene forward.

For his next Token EP, Kr!z delivers squelchy synth sequences over robust kicks, reinforcing his no - nonsense approach to club music. Classic in its conception yet psychotic in effect, Ipso Facto is a record built for powerful sound systems during the night’s most delirious moments.

First impressions are important; the Belgian producer has never been one to waste time, and this record is no exception. What you hear is what you get — an anxiously slithering synth line makes his intentions clear in De feat the Purpose, driving people to the dancefloor. Dry drum machine work thunders throughout, locking in the Token style with precision. Moving into the next track, ‘Chrome Dust’ focuses more on the tonal side of things and its irresistible groove makes i t an instant ear catcher. Playful rides and snares shape the progression, with Kr!z swapping percussion elements to keep the movement lively. 

The title track is a true hip swinger on the B1 as he reaches in the low end of the synth sequence to establish a very compelling rhythm. Everything in its right place, and not a hair more, the percussion transitions are reminiscent of his 4 channel DJ sets, the energy always being on the move. Equilibrium closes the EP with high energy, opening up filters over a reli ably bouncy rhythm. Years of experience behind the decks can be very instructive for a perceptive producer, and Kr!z proves us just that in this track and in the whole EP.

DIG Curated boss Marronn spotlights Tbilisi's underground powerhouse Uvall aka Irakli Bregvadze, who has long been a key figure in Georgia's techno scene. His minimalist yet mysterious sound blends enigmatic synths with undulating tempos here, always with physical grooves established in the low end. Lead track 'Northern Lights' has earth-shattering drum loops and scurrying synth details that sketch out an underwater world dripping with sweat. 'Reminiscence' has more robust drums and eerie sound designs that make for a cavernous feel and 'Bleak' is more anxious, with kicks stacked closely and unnerving synths searching for signs of life. 'Sleepwalker' is a zoned-out roller to close in hypnotic fashion.

Advent – A coming, or an arrival, a coming into being or use. 

Quite an appropriate name for Cisco Ferreira, a man who has played a big part in the creation and development of Techno from the very beginning of this genre’s history. Indeed, his Techno CV is the stuff of legend. Cisco was producing Techno and performing live Techno shows years before the rest of the world had even heard of the genre. He released his first track in 1988, was a pioneer of the Live PA (or Live Public Address – performing Techno live in front of an audience using electronic music gear), and, if all that wasn’t enough, he even worked as the sound engineer on some of Derrick May’s, Adonis & Fingers Inc’s recording sessions! 

The list goes on, and so does Cisco. Unlike other Techno pioneers from the early years, Cisco continues to produce with as much passion and frequency as he did back in the day. His releases on Labels Like Tresor, Rotation, Electrix, Kanzleramt, Dj Gigolos, Pure Plastic, Synewave plus many more is just another example of his ongoing pursuit to keep making music and pushing Techno to new boundaries. 

Cisco was born to Portuguese parents on the island of Madeira (Portugal). His family moved to London (1975) when he was five years old, setting the stage for his musical career. While at Paddington College (1986) in West London, he studied sound engineering and secured a job after graduation as an assistant sound engineer at ZOLOU Then later WALL Studios.  

At this period is when he really started to learn about Sound & Production, his 1st main recording sessions as an engineer were rock & “Inde” based bands & the studio owners being in successful rock bands. Matt Dangerfield & John Payne “ASIA” this 1st step was a start in learning about balancing & mixing down the rock way, which had a lot of intense & Raw energy especially on drums & Guitars.. 

Other bands Cisco did sessions for: P.I.L. (John Lydon - sex pistols) – Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) – That petrol emotion. Then Later Pop, Dance, Soul & reggae groups like: Wild Bunch (Nelly hopper & Massive Attack) – Marco Pirroni (Adam & the ants) - Maxi Priest – Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie) – Loose Ends – Cheryl Lynn… 

1987 Cisco began going to clubs and learning about this new thing called Acid House, which was spreading like crazy throughout London’s underground scene, culminating in the famous “Summer of Love” in 1988, the genre’s golden period. 

Around this time, a record label called, Jack Trax, “One of the 1st to release Acid House, House & techno in UK” moved in next door and began using the same studio for recording sessions, with Cisco as the engineer working with Fingers Inc, Adonis, Marshall Jefferson & Derrick May. Cisco released his first record in 1988 on Ferrari records (R&S records) Then later “Cisco Ferreira” EP on Fragile. 

His first big break came in 1994, when he and fellow Londonite Colin McBean (a.k.a. Mr. G) were brought on by Internal Records to help co-produce a group called Salt Tank. A record contract with Internal/FFRR soon followed, committing The Advent to 12 EP’s and 3 albums.

Today, The Advent goes on just as Cisco Ferreira. While he has had a long history with tons of accomplishments to hang his hat on, he continues to make history. The Advent is fulfilling Cisco’s vision as much as ever. He is busy touring as both a DJ and a live performer, producing for numerous labels, and running his own Techno imprint, Kombination Research. 

As Cisco moves forward, striving to fulfill the ambitious goals he has set one can look back at his storied past and see how he has come full circle… The Saga continues.
