Valentín Corujo belongs to the main core of our label since forever, alone as Kessell and also as part of his Exium project.    Through his long spanning career he has developed an own signature in sound, combining the rude industrial approach from Birmingham roots with the soul of the american foundations. Using his machinery as a vehicle to transmit his own vision on techno.   His sonic speech is always personal and aside of trends, using distortion as a weapon, creating solid and mental tools for the most advanced club environments.   This new EP makes no difference, four cuts of raw and intricate hypnosis without compromise.   Savage Garden sums up all being said before, a busy drum workout, the necessary amount of distortion and the complexity needed for your head to be abducted.   On Hidden Echoes speed rises, the rhythm is more intense, and the repetitive synth motifs grow and mutate, piercing your cortex as the arrangement flows.   B side starts with Seeing Beyond a robust groover with an asymmetric scifi touch on top spiced with drones and atmosphere floating over the complex structure.   Missing Time closes the release again mixing rugged drums with futuristic details, using reverb to create space in the mix and sharp hi-hats to keep your feet busy on the floor while having your mind blurred with the synthetic elements.   Another immaculate step in a flawless career.   ESPAÑOL   Valentín Corujo pertenece al núcleo principal de nuestro sello desde siempre, en solitario como Kessell y también como parte de su proyecto Exium.   A lo largo de su dilatada carrera ha desarrollado un sonido propio, combinando el rudo enfoque industrial de las raíces de Birmingham con el alma de la tradición americana. Utilizando su maquinaria como vehículo para transmitir su propia visión del techno.   Su discurso sonoro es siempre personal y al margen de modas, utilizando la distorsión como arma, creando herramientas sólidas y mentales para los ambientes de club más avanzados.   Este nuevo EP no marca la diferencia, cuatro cortes de hipnosis cruda e intrincada sin concesiones.   Savage Garden resume todo lo dicho hasta ahora, un intenso trabajo percusivo, la cantidad necesaria de distorsión y la complejidad necesaria para que tu cerebro se vea abducido.   En Hidden Echoes la velocidad aumenta, el ritmo es más intenso y las líneas repetitivas de sintetizador crecen y mutan, perforando tu mente mientras fluye el arreglo.   La cara B comienza con Seeing Beyond, un groove robusto con un toque de ciencia ficción asimétrico, aderezado con drones y atmósferas que flotan sobre la compleja estructura.   Missing Time cierra el disco,  de nuevo mezclando ritmos robustos con detalles futuristas, usando la reverberación para crear espacio en la mezcla ayudados por hi-hats afilados que mantienen tus pies ocupados en la pista mientras tu mente vuela con los elementos sintéticos.   Otro paso inmaculado en una carrera impecable.

While working tirelessly to build Elata's identity, she has developed her ear and skills, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere and music around her. Her approach relies on precise execution, rhythmic sounds, and sophisticated elements to create a thrilling journey centered on dancefloor energy.

Polish artist who has been living in London for several years, Anna is also a photographer, specializing in portraits and press photography. She is known as the face of Elata, constantly bringing her smile, her positive attitude, her kindness, but also her countless hours of hard work!

HYS006 | Preview

Murk.Hybrid's latest release on Alhena, "Grietas Del Vacio," is a four-track journey into the depths of techno. Each track is a unique exploration of sound, creating a cohesive and powerful EP.

"Ecos De La Grieta" kicks off the release with a haunting, atmospheric soundscape. The track builds with a driving rhythm and intricate percussion, while ethereal pads and delayed synth stabs create a sense of vast, open space. It's a hypnotic and immersive introduction to the EP.

"Pulsos De Penumbra" track takes a darker turn. Its raw, energetic techno cut with a pulsating bassline and sharp, rhythmic percussion. The industrial-tinged synths and relentless energy make this a peak-time weapon for any techno set.

"Fragmentos Del Vacio" offers a more experimental and broken-beat approach. The track is built around fragmented melodic elements and complex rhythmic patterns, creating a sense of controlled chaos. It's a testament to Murk.Hybrid's ability to push the boundaries of the genre.

The closing track, "Vibracion Espectral," is a deep and dubby affair. The focus here is on texture and atmosphere, with a deep, rolling bassline and shimmering, spectral pads that evolve throughout the track. It's a mesmerizing and introspective conclusion to a stellar EP.

Advent – A coming, or an arrival, a coming into being or use. 

Quite an appropriate name for Cisco Ferreira, a man who has played a big part in the creation and development of Techno from the very beginning of this genre’s history. Indeed, his Techno CV is the stuff of legend. Cisco was producing Techno and performing live Techno shows years before the rest of the world had even heard of the genre. He released his first track in 1988, was a pioneer of the Live PA (or Live Public Address – performing Techno live in front of an audience using electronic music gear), and, if all that wasn’t enough, he even worked as the sound engineer on some of Derrick May’s, Adonis & Fingers Inc’s recording sessions! 

The list goes on, and so does Cisco. Unlike other Techno pioneers from the early years, Cisco continues to produce with as much passion and frequency as he did back in the day. His releases on Labels Like Tresor, Rotation, Electrix, Kanzleramt, Dj Gigolos, Pure Plastic, Synewave plus many more is just another example of his ongoing pursuit to keep making music and pushing Techno to new boundaries. 

Cisco was born to Portuguese parents on the island of Madeira (Portugal). His family moved to London (1975) when he was five years old, setting the stage for his musical career. While at Paddington College (1986) in West London, he studied sound engineering and secured a job after graduation as an assistant sound engineer at ZOLOU Then later WALL Studios.  

At this period is when he really started to learn about Sound & Production, his 1st main recording sessions as an engineer were rock & “Inde” based bands & the studio owners being in successful rock bands. Matt Dangerfield & John Payne “ASIA” this 1st step was a start in learning about balancing & mixing down the rock way, which had a lot of intense & Raw energy especially on drums & Guitars.. 

Other bands Cisco did sessions for: P.I.L. (John Lydon - sex pistols) – Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) – That petrol emotion. Then Later Pop, Dance, Soul & reggae groups like: Wild Bunch (Nelly hopper & Massive Attack) – Marco Pirroni (Adam & the ants) - Maxi Priest – Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie) – Loose Ends – Cheryl Lynn… 

1987 Cisco began going to clubs and learning about this new thing called Acid House, which was spreading like crazy throughout London’s underground scene, culminating in the famous “Summer of Love” in 1988, the genre’s golden period. 

Around this time, a record label called, Jack Trax, “One of the 1st to release Acid House, House & techno in UK” moved in next door and began using the same studio for recording sessions, with Cisco as the engineer working with Fingers Inc, Adonis, Marshall Jefferson & Derrick May. Cisco released his first record in 1988 on Ferrari records (R&S records) Then later “Cisco Ferreira” EP on Fragile. 

His first big break came in 1994, when he and fellow Londonite Colin McBean (a.k.a. Mr. G) were brought on by Internal Records to help co-produce a group called Salt Tank. A record contract with Internal/FFRR soon followed, committing The Advent to 12 EP’s and 3 albums.

Today, The Advent goes on just as Cisco Ferreira. While he has had a long history with tons of accomplishments to hang his hat on, he continues to make history. The Advent is fulfilling Cisco’s vision as much as ever. He is busy touring as both a DJ and a live performer, producing for numerous labels, and running his own Techno imprint, Kombination Research. 

As Cisco moves forward, striving to fulfill the ambitious goals he has set one can look back at his storied past and see how he has come full circle… The Saga continues.
