Our Rhythm Radar has detected some unidentified frequencies for the first time since it’s installation.  Upon further investigation, we have traced these frequencies back to seasoned selector, Kerouac.

A name that is prevalent in the underground electronic scene for his colossal record collection, which he shared with the world through his Kerouac & Smile YouTube channel.  In addition to this, his exploits in the studio have turned many heads, resulting in releases on the labels of Gene On Earth & Bobby O’Donnell, as well as support from Brawther and the Slapfunk crew.

He has kindly prepared a mixtape for us which is soaked with nostalgia of the 90s rave era.  Enjoy!

It’s been a couple of years since Brett Johnson graced us with his sonic intentions and we missed him, so the name of this release seems appropriate. ‘Mr Johnson’s Talk’n Now’ delivers acidic squelchiness, the ‘OG Demo Mix’ jacking with a nervous driving beat and Luke Solomon’s ‘Video Games Rework’ introducing some funky disco loops. ‘BJ’s Revamped Version’ has a more profound groove, reaching into the deeper end of the acidic pool and pulling out some caustic basslines. Tying ‘Mr Johnson’s Talk’n Now’ together is a stream-of-consciousness rambling from Brett; a take on the breathy, pseudo-spiritual spoken word that plagues certain electronic music, with tongue firmly in cheek. Making up the EP is ‘Give It To Them’, pulsing and kicking with attitude and full of playful loops. It’s good to have Brett Johnson back.

Renowned for his Latin and groovy beats, C.I.S.C.O blends house, jazz, and minimal music elements seamlessly. His talent for creating timeless track edits under Vengo Records makes his music ideal for both clubs and festivals.

C.I.S.C.O’s sound has made its mark on respected labels such as Elrow Limited, Tamango Records, Key Records, Capadi Rebels, Heisenberg, Bamboleo, and his own Vengo Records.
