Citizen.com - Brotherhood Of Beats DJ Mix

For this remix comp I have gone for a Future House/bass feel. Using the already punchy bass, Ive created a remix aimed at the Bass House loving dance floor.
Adding in a new garage inspired percussion line, and altering the flow of the synth and vocals this remix shows a new direction for me in a Future bass context while still maintaing the original booty vibe.

A few months back, there was a most wonderfully magical gathering to celebrate a dear friend's 50th cycle of the sun.

I was privileged enough to be able to play for many hours on the last day, Sunday, from late afternoon into the night. Prior to this, a request had made for electro schwing so I started scouring for fresh wobblas and naughty beats and was suitably blown away. 

Here's the first couple of hours that fit roughly in that genre before I started getting deeper and naughtier in pt.2 as the light faded.

Had the absolute honour and pleasure to play Blossom once more. This time in the beautiful Garden Stage! Deep in the forest with all the majesty of a psychedelic teddy bear's picnic! Kudos to the entire team involved and behind the design and finesse!

Early morning business, this set was from deep within my soul. Showcasing a story of my past months and beyond! Plenty of emotion and the odd tear... how else would you want art!

Blossom 2025 ~ Garden Stage

A short mix of showcasing some of the tunes and styles that got multiple plays from me over the party and festival season. It contains a selection of some old and new Bass music tunes that keeps my bass face well exercised ;-)

A sample of Festivus 2015 - 2016

This was the final One Series show in a 5-year run of events that began at Cellspace in San Francisco back in 2012. 

These sets gave me a much-needed chance to breathe and to branch out from the peaktime headline shows I'd been playing for many years. They allowed me time to spread my wings musically and explore different tempos and different flavours and tell a story from cover to cover. They inspired me and kept me going at a time when I was deeply disillusioned by electronic music's move into the bubblegum candy-pop of the supersized McRave. 

I believe that music has the power to affect people deeply and that it can be felt on a spiritual level, and during these sets I always felt that connection profoundly. I'm proud of what I achieved with them and that a beautiful legacy remains.

This particular set had to be reconstructed from 2/3rds of the way through as the recorder malfunctioned, but I didn't want to leave the Final One unarchived, so here it is in all of it's 6-hours of glory.

This mix is a tribute to how much their work has impacted my life and kept the dance floor vibes happy and fun.

There is loads of double and tripple drops, and even some 4 deck mash ups going on. All mixed with a club party mashup flavour.

Citizen cemented himself in the Melbourne DJ and event scene pushing Break beats and Bass music. After creating a weekly bass night called Bass Camp he quickly started making moves towards touring international acts. After joining forces with Rock Like This he was responsible for supporting and hosting most noteworthy Break beat acts around the World. Though the success of Rock Like This he begun setting his sites on teaming up with other Melbourne event crews to support the best of the best in the Breaks and Bass scene. 

Over the years Citizen has supported the likes of - Stanton Warriors, KraftyKuts, ASkillz, Plump DJs, The Freestylers, James Lavelle, Dave Seamen, StickyBuds, Elite Force, Opiuo, Hybrid, Deekline, LTJ Bukem, Scratch Perverts, Kid Kenobi, NextMen and many many more. 
Throughout the journey Citizen has also stepped into the festival game playing and hosting stages at the likes of Earthcore festival, Rainbow Serpent festival, Esoteric Festival and more. 

The range of international acts and events he has supported shows his diversity behind the decks. Playing only what he would dance to himself, his collection spans everything from Breaks, Bass, Tech House, Techno, Disco, Hip-hop, Funk, Ghetto Funk, Drum and Bass, Rock, Punk, 80's and anything in between. 
With a music collection spanning over 25 years and the skills to match, Citizen always has the right vibe for the right time no matter what the size of the crowd.
