MASS returns with its second VA release, inviting a selection of artists that represent various shades of dance music ranging from rave and groove, to harder techno. On this occasion, we have invited 5 artists to compose 4 heavy-hitting tracks including the likes of the Dutch-based duo 'Flowing Energy' with an acid-infused melodic heartbreaker, a return from the Polish artist 'Dreum' with his signature Schranz-influenced hard techno track, a collaboration project between U.K. based artists ATXX & our co-founder Cathédral with a track stemming from Jungle breaks and dancehall, and last but not least, an absolute fast-paced banger from the Colombian artist KXK with its groovy and melancholic vibe.

Not Modest's 'Actus Nocturna' is a finely tuned composition that marries breakbeat with a rich ensemble of hi-hats and percussion, accented by dark sirens that weave through its layers, creating a sometimes sinister atmosphere. The tempo relentlessly builds up, offering little respite. After a brief pause, the track surges back into its bouncing rhythm with full force.

Disappearer's fourth META MOTO solo artist tape showcases a fluidity between electronic sounds and genres, characterised by a deliberate elusiveness. Oscillating between eerie atmospheres and funky beats, the artist constructs an enigmatic sonic landscape, evoking a sense of hiding in the shadows while emitting smoke screens. From electro to techno and breakbeat, the eight-track album titled "Counterfeit" is set for release on March 29th, available on both tape and digital platforms.

Recorded and produced by Johan Skugge, half of Harlem (Veyl, Body Musick), the album originates from Palermo, Italy. Skugge, also recognised for his release on Clan Destine Records from Glasgow, UK, brings his distinct sound to "Counterfeit." With its electrifying compositions, this album promises to captivate audiences with its bold electronic aesthetic.

Altern 8`s Mark Archer also provides an exclusive remix full of break beats and hooks from back in the day. Vicks, white gloves and boiler suits are optional.

“When I started to work on this track, I could not envision how it would turn out, I was just making it, bit by bit. After doing the first beats, I made the bassline using Reaktor. The sound and the sequence reminded me a bit of the old school stuff from The Hacker and David Carreta and the idea of inviting Kittin to do the vocals came to mind. She said she loved the track and she was gonna do the vocals and the result could not be better. I am a huuuge fan of hers going back many years and I have a lot of her records from when I started playing, right through to her recent productions. I remember when she went to Brazil about 15 years ago to play at one of the most loved clubs there at the time called Lov.e. I could not be there but I saw her on TV when she gave an interview on one of the country’s biggest channels. I vividly remember calling all my family to see it – I felt a huge admiration for her, her music, her style and everything about her. And I still do! I was a 17-year-old living in the Brazilian countryside at the time watching one of my idols on TV and could never have imagined that one day we would be doing a track together. Life is so unpredictable and this is a beautiful gift that music gave me.” - ANNA
