« Je ne comprends pas : est-ce que c’est de la techno ? de l’EBM ? du disco ? », c’est le commentaire laissé par un internaute espagnol sous la vidéo du live de Kompromat à l’Arte Concert Festival à la Gaîté Lyrique en octobre. Brouiller les pistes, voilà ce à quoi aiment jouer Vitalic et Rebeka Warrior, pour leurs multiples projets perso et aussi pour leur duo, Kompromat, dont les lives furent parmi les meilleurs qu’on a vus en 2019 et 2020 avant la mise sous cloche.
On ne saura probablement jamais quels dossiers secrets nos deux agents ont l’un sur l’autre, mais ce qu’on sait c’est que Kompromat est né à un moment très sombre de leur vie et que faire jaillir ses morceaux les a ramenés vers la lumière.
Pour ce deuxième album, qu’on n'espérait ardemment, les caractères cyrilliques sont toujours présents mais l’allemand a laissé la place au français et à l’anglais. Rebeka Warrior et Vitalic ont aussi ouvert leur datcha à des artistes singuliers : Rahim Redcar, Vimala Pons, Sonia DeVille et Farah. Mais ce sont surtout des fantômes qui peuplent de leur amour la grande messe païenne de Kompromat. Dark is sexy and ghosts are beautiful, Rebeka Warrior et Vitalic sont les invité·e·s de Place des Fêtes.
