'Various Assets - Not For Sale 2013' is a collection of some of the music that was made during the Red Bull Music Academy during four early summer weeks in New York City last year. The double CD contains 30 tracks composed, improvised and discovered by the 62 international participants and a cast of high-profile studio team members, who all got their fingers dirty on synths, Mellotrons, vibraphones, drum machines and anything else they could lay their hands on. Enjoy!

Known as Los Angeles' "Ambassador of Boogie Funk," Damon Riddick represents the citizens of the Funkmosphere to the fullest. Anyone who grooves to the likes of Slave, Aurra, early Prince and Prelude Records, will knoe what to do when they hear "No More Love."

Jay Electronica - Abracadabra (Prod. J Dilla)

A sublime disco track from this early 80s Milwaukee family/kid band. The "C" is for Charles (Smith), the band's leader. Sweet Thang records also released a hopelessly rare 12" EP by the group, who had changed their name to Dazzle in the interim. The EP features a nice synth and percussion heavy remix of 'In the Disco', as an instrumental and retitled 'Disco's Out'. 1980.

"C" On the Funk - In the Disco (Sweet Thang)

The rare 45 mix of Penny Goodwin's classic early 70s down-tempo rare groove. It excludes the LP versions double-time ending where Penny starts ranting about acid and track marks, but probably ends up being a generally more cohesive piece of music. Penny is from Milwaukee and still sings here occasionally to this day. The sessions that produced this record and the rest of her 'Portrait of a Gemini' LP were done in Chicago, however, with Richard Evans stepping in on arrangements. His string charts in particular really add a lot to this track. The title is taken from an old Jewish proverb, with lyrics cleverly adapting the sentiment for the switched-on kids of the late 60s/early 70s generation. Sy Lefco, the writer, penned many other tunes for black and white groups in Milwaukee at the time- effortlessly crisscrossing genre and racial boundaries.

I am a passionate man who from a very young age has been  interested in various Genres of Music , avidly seeking music that interests me . Having a vast Vinyl and CD collection , Soundcloud has become an extension of this . 
Ska , Reggae , Tamla Motown , Stax and Atlantic got my Mojo started . Followed by David Bowie , Lou Reed and Roxy Music . This was also cemented by Youth Culture alliance . 
Having been a prolific and to a lesser extent today , a Club attendee my taste for music is on going . At various stages of my life I have played my music as a Dj .
For a period I was contributor for a magazine that specialises in Soul old and new . It is called Manifesto , published in the UK . A fantastic enjoyable and informative specialist publication . 
 I hope you enjoy my selections that I put into Albums to assist your enjoyment .   

As a founding member of the legendary underground group Watusi Tribe and now The Sons of Silverton, Citoak has solidified himself as an exemplary lyricist within Cincinnati's hip-hop scene and has graced stages from New York to Atlanta with some of hip hop's elite (The Roots, Talib Kweli, Goodie Mob, KRS ONE, and Killer Mike to name a few). If his towering stature doesn't garner attention or distinguish his individuality from the pack, his ability to rock mics will. To put it quite simply, in every measure, this guy's mere essence is a commanding force. Whenever Citoak rhymes, his baritoned vocal styling resonates through the sonic sphere with purpose, talent ,and skill. Couple that ability with superior lyricism, demonstrated experience, plus a banging stage show and you have the makings of a MC highly esteemed by any who experience his gifts.
