Subdue - Dissipate

For our next release, Engage have gone international. Budding Colombian producer Asura has come through with a stomping EP - Off Switch - that's sure to get any dance floor moving.

This foghorn funk filled 3 track EP hits hard and heavy, bursting with South American energy merged with classic UK drum and bass sounds.

The EPs title track "Off Switch" is as futurist sounding as it is classic dnb. The over processed, computerised vocal sample lulls you into a false sense of security before the drop punches you in the face. The mids and bass rip through you, making the track simply mental.

The following two tracks do not disappoint either, both following in the footsteps of Off Switch in levels of insanity. "Go Wrong" and "Sanitizer" both hit home with the vibe of the EP bringing a mixture of 2010 dancefloor and 2020 chaos.

All in all, this EP slaps faces and takes no prisoners. Asura is one to watch, Follow him here:

This Friday, Influence Records launch their biggest release thus far, bringing through four of Drum & Bass’ leading, most-impactful artists, all of whom have had long-lasting, massively inspiring trajectories through the dizzying heights of our much-loved scene.

‘The Fire’ EP sees Influence lock messers Commix, Bungle, Zero T and Sevin, all seminal figures in their own right, for four stunning remixes from their extensive, time-tested back catalogue. Across the four track collection, the infinitely consistent Brazilian badman Bungle step ups to procure a slick remix of Easy & Geeks’s ‘Natural’, effortlessly diverse Irish soul purveyor Zero T delivers a pulsating rework of one of Influence’s most popular cuts from this year: Cutworx’s ‘Words’, and talented Knighton-based don Sevin supplies a harmonically cascading take on Easy’s ‘Tunnel Vision’, whilst the legendary, indomitable Commix firmly flexes his esteemed production aesthetic on Data’s 2009 classic, ‘The Causeway’. Overall, it’s yet another top package from Influence, and all the artists involved.
