XCVII - babyxxan

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould, we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Regardless of one’s point of reference, we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

This month we have invited @midorihirano to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero-patriarchal systems of oppression.

Midori Hirano is a musician, composer and producer. She uses predominantly piano, with subtle electronic processing and field recordings. She has released nine solo albums so far including the records under her other moniker MimiCof, in which she explores the realm of experimental music and detailed rhythmic patterns, combined with an idea of drawing melodic shapes and harmonies.

Emulsive, layered, vibrant, light and dark. This year, Neon Cleptu will be approached differently. I will invite artists that I admire and think that they're doing interesting things. 

For this episode I like to welcome Echium. @echium_air

Echium released two highly recommended albums on the Manchester based label Sferic. And he will be on the Concentric Records forthcoming Various compilation.  

I'm very pleased that he participated and will be the first one to guide us through his musical fascinations.
