Alec Sander (aka Wompa) is a co-founder of Sydney based event collective DUNJ and has been DJing in Sydney for around 10 years. Alec Sander is best known for his bass focused outlook, extra long sets and broad taste in electronic dance music.

Alec Sander’s involvement with DUNJ has enabled him to support world renowned acts such as Goth Trad, Vivek, Kahn & Neek, Fis, Pyur, Pinch & Mungos Hi-Fi to name a few. DUNJ as a collective has become an integral part of Sydney’s underground music scene and has organised well over 100 unique events and played host to over 60 unique international artists and over 300 unique domestic artists.

DUNJ is not Alec Sander’s only musical outlet. Alec Sander is also part of local internet radio duo Mood Support alongside fellow DUNJ Crew resident Swisherman. Alec Sander is also about to launch his own lathe cut record label called Only Choice, set to release in the second half of 2022.

Alec Sander has been known to DJ and cater for all occasions. In addition to his main and original passion; dance floor bass music, Alec Sander has been known for closing sets at techno warehouse parties, day time sets at house music events, morning downtempo sets at the kick on, selector style reggae dub sets and even some disco sets here and there. Alec Sander has a real passion for DJing and he likes nothing more than preparing for a challenging DJ set for almost all occasions.

Piezo joins sour series this week with an exhilarating percussive workout, frantically shifting between left-field house and techno with otherworldly grooves, deep bass-lines and atmospheric breakdowns that offer brief moments of rest throughout. It's clear to hear the influence Piezo's skills as a sound designer have on the musical output and track selections - creating a fluency within the mix that is seldom achieved with the same grace. 

With previous releases coming via Idle Hands, Swamp 81, Version and Wisdom Teeth, we're looking forward to hearing more of this sought-after sound.

DJ and producer Malcolm came to our attention through his tastefully curated label, Global Warming Records, a platform that are making the end of the world sound just as they like it — just how we like it too.

Since starting the imprint Malcolm has brought friends and new producers into the fold, the likes of Ouai Stéphane, N-ERGY, Jon Beige and Sutja Gutierrez, who have all showcased their own take on dub-wise atmospherics, dystopian bass experiments and heavy syncopated rhythms.

Freshly moved from Paris to London (literally - he got off the plane a couple of days ago), Malcolm brings a touch of the dystopian and cinematic to his own productions too, which have landed on labels like Abstrack and Biologic.

Not one to churn out mixes regularly, he's prepared something very special for us. Weaving together obscurities and unreleased edits finished especially for this, Malcolm shares the moods and sounds at the core of what he does.
