About "The Undergound in Europe"

The title of this track is based on the title of a Pantera track "The Underground in America"

City Weezle is a band born out of the underground 
in France and Ireland in a scene with Artists such as Vladimir Bozar n' ze sheraf orkestar" "Clurichaun" 
"Igorrr" "Pryapisme" "Sebkha chotte" and many more..

Being from this underground scene in Europe doing a play on that song title is what inspired the music and lyrics of this track.

The music is a mix of European clichés and Queen-esque metal meets Tenacious-D style humour.
For all you theory buffs out there, it's the only City Weezle song thus far to include the major key.

The lyrics and music of the track evoke much European Imagery from Asterix and Obelix to Oliver Twist. 
There's a part in towards the end that evokes The Braveheart scene where the Scots use the long stakes to Wipe out the English Cavelry.

The song ends with a priest saying a prayer in english then Latin to a church organ playing in the background.

The Underground In Europe

The track opens with a bouncing, pulsating, Foot stomping riff, 
this riff is what gave the song its title "She's a stomper" meaning that the riff is a foot stomping riff.

The lyrics of the song are about someone who choses a lifestyle of self destruction  
And that while it might seem like an easy road, it's a hard road. 

She's a stomper in the chorus takes on the meaning that (s)he's a person who just gets through it, 
thrives and survives in the craziness of life. 

Musically the verses have a simple hard hitting driving puslation  while the prechorus builds you up to the 
Bouncy Catchy bluesmetal vibe of the chorus, The outro is narrated but a Preacher and a Sinner 
To a back drop of feedback and noise...The sinner's rejoicing in self destruction while the preacher 
Vows to save the sinners soul from eternal damnation.
She Gonna pack a punch! (meaning life's gonna hit you!)
She's a stomper might ultimately mean life's a bitch.

She's a Stomper

This track was written back in 2007 by frontman Simon after splitting up with his first longterm GF
Feeling the solitude of Big City life and hitting the bottle to try and fill the void.

The lyrics express the emotional state of that situation in a desperate but light hearted way.

It's a fun slow tempo bluesy in the verses sometimes reminiscent of Tom Waits or Beefheart,
But then it breaks into an upbeat catchy Jazzy Bluesy chorus to bring back the smiles and light heartedness to the weezle.
This part Vocally has somthing Zappa-esque in the way it's delivered.

It's a much more loose number than any of CW's previous catalogue with a free flowing 
Keyboard brought by the "Wunderkind" Axel Steinbiss with gives it a warm Jazz blues feel to the track.

Each Chorus has an alternate ending, during the keyboard solo we can hear a man arguing with his lady
Then hitting the bar for a few drinks, the track ends with a blues turnaround that never turns around and finishes in the Abyss.

Even Weezle's get the Blues

The music gives a feeling as if your sailing on the sea with swells swaying you from left to right 
As if you're on a boat at sea, while this is the most linear track of CW's catalogue, 

The focus is more melody,layering and embelishements moreso than on rythmical changes which occur quite a bit in the weezle repertoire.

The vocal harmonies might sometimes give an Alice in chainsy colour while  in the chorus they evoke a twisted Beechboys vibe.

The Keys of "Wunderkind" Axel Steinbiss smoothly caress this track as they bob and and weave above and below the ocean waves 
It could be considered the 2nd psychadelic track of CW repertoire along with "Lysergik tea party"

Eskimo Pie

The concept of the song initially to write a dense complex song which with no structural repetition,

The title Cluedo was born of this concept as Cluedo is a guessing game and the lyrics came from the title,
Realizing that to have a song that has zero repetition just doesn't sound good to the listener there was repetition added.

This is a 10 minute track with alot of ideas that keeps the listener pulled in throughout its duration.

It could be seen as a very advanced version of the kind of swing rock that the band 
Displayed on their first ever recorded track "City Weezle", 

Featuring an insane guitar solo from Tommy(T-Dawg)Buckley that starts out with a game of cat and mouse 
And goes into a kind of twisted nightmarish "Thing that should not be" 

There are some magical electro sprinkles on the solo intro section from baraque-core maestro "Igorrr".

This 10 minute swinging rock zinger has plenty of sounds to keep the listener pulled in for it's duration.

It's the perfect crime, an epic swing rock track to end the bands 2nd LP.  
A song that begs the question... Who is the Killer? Do you have a clue? is it you?

Cluedo

El Matador is the 6th track off of City weezle's 1st LP "Taboo"


The music of this track is a slow Grooving/Swinging Hispanic sounding riff  on Guitar backed by bass and sax playing the melodies.
It drifts through some Latino sounding clichés also incorporating a Tango Flamenco Falseta as a part of the bridge.

The lyrics are about a guy who's partying so hard 
that it's a dance with death and the Matador is a metaphor for this,
The dangers of living both lifestyles can be fatal.

The moral of the story is that there is no moral to the story,
Life is short,Enjoy it!
