Get Physical's last delivery for 2014 is, yet again, an EP that strays a bit off the beaten track. For this last installment, GPM290, Junge Junge has called upon Australian native Kyle Pearce to set some velvety vocals to a toned-down, bittersweet delight of a track. 

The ‚Beautiful Girl‘ EP opens with its namesake creation, a thumb piano-laden tune decorated by some seriously smoky singing just waiting to transport you far away. It's followed by a handful of distinct reworkings, by the likes of Tube & Berger who plunge the track underwater and turn it into warm-up material, while Audiofly takes on a dub remix and spins the song on its head to give it a new psychedelic identity. Meanwhile, Blond:ish throws it into darker terrain only to have the ‚Beautiful Girl‘ lifted up by Junge Junge once again thanks to a slightly different version that turns it into danceable AM epic by way of some wisely-placed kicks and claps. The EP ends on this sweetest of high notes, putting a neat, shiny bow on this, the last of Get Physical's gifts to you before the year is out.

Hotflush unveils its second release of 2015 in the form of a collaborative single between label mainstay Locked Groove and ascendant Italian duo Mind Against.

With both acts coming off the back of triumphant finishes to 2014 - the success of Locked Groove's huge Enigma EP and Mind Against's surge into #33 position in Resident Advisor's 2014 DJ poll - 'Elysium / Pulsar' marks the first time the producers have collaborated. The end result combines Locked Groove's punchy, dancefloor-ready aesthestic and the emotionally resonant melodics that Mind Against have made their signature since breaking through with Life And Death in 2013.

“Recording this guest Mix was a real pleasure. It gave me the chance to dive into a side of my music taste that I don’t always get to explore during my club sets. Most of the time, I’m playing peak-time slots—high energy, driving tracks that get the dancefloor going. But there’s another side of me that’s drawn to deeper, more subtle sounds—the kind of music that invites people to close their eyes and just get lost in the moment.

This mix gave me space to dig through tracks I love but don’t often get the chance to share, and to blend them with other styles I’m passionate about. I’ve always seen music as something that shouldn’t be boxed into genres—what matters to me is how it feels.
