The state of mind of timid volatility and primal captivity urgently cries out in CITYGIRL's debut single “Hollow Future”.
Drawing from all influences lush and rhythmically hypnotic, including shoegaze, chillwave, post-punk and pop, "Hollow Future", led by the moody voice of artist Marisa Ferdenzi, emphasizes the haunting yet uplifting synth work of Allison Jones, immersed in undulating guitar interplay and alluring yet sad melodies.

Now They Want It, led by a velvet and bluesy voice, dives into a warm and turbulent ocean of guitars and engulfing synths. Tempered by uplifting doubled drums, the rushing soundscape carries you into spontaneous nostalgia.

The track features the steady drum groove of alternative rock, washed-out guitars of shoegaze, and dreampop vocals. An opening major chord resolves into a minor chord, indicating cyclothymic hope and disappointment.

CITYGIRL is based in New York, NY and was formed in 2016. Founded by Marisa Ferdenzi (vocals, guitar) who then began collaborating with Allison Jones (keyboards), CITYGIRL is joined live by members Matthew Leibowitz (bass), Kyle Duke (guitar) and Aaron Hamel (drums). Their sound is a hazy array of lush and dream-like tones and accelerating beats, combining distinctively moody vocals and enchanting synth work.
