Growing up in Rush I never really had much to be at than wasting away days in my mates gaf’s watching stupid YouTube videos or having firework wars down the golf course but looking back on those days now, I've realised the impact it had subconsciously on my music so I decided to create four tracks based around four different places I'd of hung around.

'Martello'  the  opening  track  is  a  spot  we  would  of  had  to  walk  pretty  far  outside  of  Rush  to  get  to,  looking  back  on  it  now  it  just  brings  a  feeling  of  just  chilled  out  sunny  memories  but  putting  it  into  music  wanted  me  to  make  it  more  abstract  than  chilled  out.

Officially introducing Tommy Holohan to Civil Disobedience and his forthcoming release, Ros Eó, a four track EP impassioned with profoundness and explosive in its sound.  All four tracks are original productions from Tommy who takes us on a fun, adrenaline-fuelled, reminiscent journey of his youth, from hang out to hang out, in Rush, Dublin.  You can literally hear the firework wars down the local golf course pump through the EP like an undercurrent of unruly teen spirit that should forever be celebrated in the name of RAVE!  This is Tommy’s first solo EP , something tells us it won’t be his last.

'Seamos  Gaf  (Back  To  When  I  Wasn't  Born  Mix)' is  based  around  my  mate  seamo's  house  where  would  be  the  usual  hang  out  spot,  during  the  summer  we'd  have  barbecues  there  and  myself  and  Casey  would  normally  hog  the  tunes,  melting  the  guys  with  old R&S  mixes,  hence  why  this  is  heavily  inspired  by  old  school  R&S,  CJ Bolland  techno.  There's  even  a  little  sample  at  the  end  of  an  old  video  we  have  of  Casey  in  Seamos  gaf.

Civil Disobedience is quick to return with another four track EP of original productions delivered by the label founders themselves, Violent Blondes.  ‘Gaia’s Liberation’ unveils a more experimental and progressive side to Violent Blondes’ sound, with ‘One’ produced solely from the human voice using it as a synth to create an unnerving and bewitching prologue to the music which follows.

The tracks are induced by the ideas of the Mother goddess and exploring deepening spirituality in favour of archaic religious institutions in a hope societies will continue to become more balanced, especially those where inequality and oppression exist the most.  It’s Violent Blondes’ belief that societies need to undo the historical “rules” which constrain free thought, creativity and have played a huge part in making the role of women submissive, along with blacklisting other groups.  The EP’s intent is to liberate and empower the underdogs that such religious texts have outcast and make you think about our future as one society on this very weary but still ever so bountiful planet.

 In Violent Blondes’ signature style, they let the techno tell you the story of Gaia’s Liberation.

Civil Disobedience’s seventh and debut vinyl release welcomes polish artist, TAKA, to the family. TAKA presents 1610, an exceptionally personal and moving collection of music written and produced during a period of coming to terms with her father’s passing. In her own words, “I began to feel strong again when I was creating this music”. This is an EP where emotions of the darkest and lightest kind dance together. TAKA executes her story in rough and ready beats, quirky and randomised percussion, with intense and emotive leads progressing throughout each track. Entrusted to remix such precious material is TAKA’s friend, Gareth Wild, who has crafted a signature heavy duty techno destroyer of ‘Cry Cry’. ‘Cry Cry’ especially promises to leave its mark on listeners, its leading chords are a raw melodic masterpiece, underpinned with a pummelling bassline. This piece of music penetrates the soul, awakens the subconscious, and leaves you radiating with profound hope and knowing. Those who hear it do not forget it.
