Inspired by the personal struggle of self doubt, ‘This Place I Love’ captures the internal and external conversations we have within ourselves and the mental barriers it creates. CIVIQUE takes us on a journey of learning to trust your own creative processes, and to break free from mental barriers.

Driven by energetic bass, powerful beats and belting vocals, CIVIQUE’s debut single captures the feeling of what it’s like to be stuck inside the dark settings of a mind. Drawing inspiration from heartache and fear, the industrial aggressive bass and raw vocals all serve their purpose to reflect it and the mental struggles that inspired the track.

This Place I Love

Memory was written in a time of my life where my weekend consumption was turning into a dangerous reality. Sonically the song draws inspiration from dating apps, cheap thrills and 50/50 decisions that all make up individual memories of people.  Questions are raised if they are the right one or dealing with the consequences. 

The song lyrically is written in two halves. One looking in on myself searching for cheap thrills waiting to fill the void with a happy memory. The other is looking in on myself if I continued down this debaucherous path and what would essentially be a downward spiral.  

Memory is one of my favourite up beat aggressive dance tracks because of the way it makes me feel, (Happy). Written as a bass heavy distorted house track, it reflected my mood when partying. It always makes me want to stop and dance wherever I listen to it.
