[VIRGO NYC March 24] 90 minutes of smooth funky fun

For two years, SoundPark has searched, discovered, and carefully curated projects from various cities around the world that are responsible for elevating nightlife culture in their region in a practical way. We have nurtured a culture that celebrates these ideas and more importantly one that embraces the creative minds who put these ideas together to make them a reality. When we first heard Toronto based Nature of Music, there was something about the pace of their music that resonated with us so brilliantly. To get the full effect of deep and melancholic shades of house one must command an acute level of patience to allow the records to 'breathe' in the framework of the set. Strings need to play out, the delays need to ring into the distance, the reverb needs to hug you, the intensity of the music pulses from break down to build up. Nature of Music stylistically are unlike any other and after a few plays become instantly recognizable. Over the next hour, audio story-tellers Nature of Music will mark their SoundPark debut. Welcome to the Park <3

3 QUESTIONS to UPERCENT:

Q: Diynamic, Sincopat, Upon.You. Just to name a few of the recent labels you´re releasing on. The sky seems to be the limit? What´s next? Any more producer goals to reach? 

A: Maybe the sky is the limit, it's nice to dream but you need to have your personal goals, and currently I like when they are big. I have prepared a few EPs and remixes for 2018 which will be out on Kompakt, Monaberry and Watergate among others. I always have goals in my mind and I’m working hard to reach them! 

Q: Talking about your epic mix. How did these tracks find the way to your case?

A: The mix is a short tour of my life, most of it is like the BSO, some others are with me since the day I was born, I think they are like part of my DNA (laughing)

Q: What´s your favorite setup for producing?

A: Well, since a lot of years I'm working with Logic Pro, I like this program because I feel that I'm not attached to a strict rhythm like other programs I have tried. Most of the percussions are recorded with a small Tascam, and the more important pieces are my old synths without MIDI, they are the mainstay of my studio!

Jeder von uns kennt es... Sonntags denken wir bereits an den Montag. Abends denken wir an das, was uns den Tag über begleitet hat und an das, was wir am nächsten Tag zu erledigen haben. Viel mehr kümmern wir uns um Themen wie Geld, Arbeit oder ärgern uns über das Wetter als uns bewusst zu machen worauf es wirklich ankommt. Was macht Euch wirklich glücklich? Die Momente in welchen uns dies bewusst wird sind die, die das Leben lebenswert machen. Einfach mal entschleunigen, nachdenken und zufrieden sein. Zufrieden über die Gesundheit, darüber die frische Luft atmen zu können und einfach glücklich darüber zu sein, mit seinen Mitmenschen Zeit zu verbringen... Im Hier und Jetzt. Den Gedanken seinen freien Lauf lassen.
