This track was originally composed as a piano solo, with each section being a remnant of the initial theme.  Eventually, it was expanded to include full orchestra at various sections.  "Remnants" was inspired by the idea that we are made up of memories, and these remnants are what we carry with us into the present and future, there to be called upon as needed.  I chose the cover photo because, like memories, it's varied in color and texture, but the result is the beautiful creation of the whole.

"The Music Box & Other Stories" is a poignant nod to my childhood and my mother's music box, which played "Waves of the Danube," and which I found completely mesmerizing.  That was my first realization that every song had a story to tell, and instilled a longing in me to tell my own musical tales.

"Chimneys" translates into audio the emotions and incredulity of witnessing the neighborhood of Altadena, CA, and the lives of so many good and wonderful neighbors, transformed by the Eaton Fire on January 7th, 2025.  Words could not express our anguish as we watched the landscape change, knowing that it - that we - will never be quite the same.  As far as the eye can see in every direction, mostly what remains standing are the chimneys, like fists raised to the sky in defiance.  We are united and together we will rebuild.  "Altadena Strong," our spirit remains forever!

Music is a great unifier.  Through music, we bridge the gap between race, gender, age, etc., to raise our unified voice, the voice of the human race.  I am thankful for making friends from around the world through music, and I thank these friends for embracing me as I am.  We can't allow people to suffer oppression based on differences.  Instead, we should leverage our differences to make the world stronger and better, and build each other up instead of tearing each other down.  We are one people.  Love, not hate, is the answer.

Thanks for stopping by my page!  I compose music for all types of media in multiple genres, but favor cinematic orchestral or orchestral-synth hybrids with a strong melody.  I'm currently furthering my skills at Berklee College of Music Online, scored the end credits for the Indie film short "Sides," have music available in various film libraries, and have won awards in several film scoring contests, most notably the "Emerging Composer Diversity Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Composition" in the Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Competition 2018.
