UPDATE

This edit ended up on MUNCHAID, a proper 21 certified bangers compilation made by CABALLO to HELP Munchi, the young and supertalented Moombahton & Moombah'core producer, by FUNDRAISING.
Munchi had a seizure caused by an intracerebral hemorrhage, with no prior condition. He spent 9 hours in a coma and 11 days in the hospital recovering. He has no medical insurance in the US.

This is my remix for my friend Cucina Sonora, and the original features an Italian ecletic artist called NAIP, where he sings “basta poco” which means “it doesn't take much”. He refers to all the little things in Italy where it literally just doesn’t take much to make things better, to all the superficial situations that characterise a lack of effort that at the end of the day makes a huge difference in our daily lives.
My take on the track was surely inspired by the Br MTG vibe, where even if minimalist as a genre, the result is huge because “basta poco”.

Cucina Sonora feat N.A.I.P. - Basta Poco! (Ckrono Remix)

"El año pasado Populous nos dejó de cara cuando publicó su disco “Night Safari”, el cual resultó ser un disco que de alguna manera consagraba el nuevo sonido del global bass italiano. Si bien en 2014 Clap! Clap! fue la absoluta revelación de todo este movimiento, lo de Populous se para por si solo por el punto medio que encuentra entre los distintos elementos de esta escena: el juke trap revienta bocinas, las texturas de música tribal y popular africana, las sincópas pseudo cumbieras, y las atmósferas bass. “Night Safari” es de esos discos que se pueden escuchar de inicio a fin como un concepto continuo y que a su vez llevan consigo esa brutalidad underground que sirve para bailar cuando la noche esté en su más alta fase de destrucción.
Uno de los hits más recordables de este disco es la canción Quad Boogie, un trancazo de cumbia – moombahton – africana en la que Populous une fuerzas con el genio Digi G’Alessio (el alter ego de Clap! Clap!), el cual es el motivo del Release Exlcusivo que tenemos para ustedes el día de hoy.
Luego de estar dando la vuelta por todos lados, Quad Boogie recibe un tratamiento especial por parte de Ckrono &amp; Slesh, otro dúo emblemático de esta escena, siendo las mentes maestras detrás de la disquera Voodoo Rebel de Florencia.
En este caso la naturaleza bestial de Ckrono &amp; Slesh recontemporaliza a Quad Boogie en un hitazo de jersey club digno de festivales, o como dirían las propias palabras de ellos: “Estamos muy contentos de haber tenido la oportunidad de remixear un track de un album tan bueno! Dado que la canción original era un moombahtón muy cercano a nuestro sonido, decidímos llevarlo a un paso más allá y transformarlo en algo más bmore bouncy, imaginando que Populous pudiera estar bailando en el Holy Ship rodeado de un montón de party animals adolescentes durante el delirio de Spring Break ."

Katapulta EP is a unique collaboration between two driving forces in the Vilnius alternative world music scene; the ﬁre-setting balkan / gypsy / klezmer DJ unit Baltic Balkan, and the minimal post brass outﬁt Banda Dzeta. The lyrics of “Katapulta” describe a romantic story about a magical catapult, delivering sounds that can break all musical and political walls. 

Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, has always been a melting pot of Baltic, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, Jewish, German, Tatar, Karaite, British and Gypsy cultures. In the homeland of one of the greatest violinists of all time, Jascha Hefeitz, where every yard could hear the klezmer music carried over by winds from the East and the South, the Baltic Balkan project was also initiated. This musical and performance artist endeavor was by inspired by original Yugoslav punk rock and countless music festivals and movies with a true Balkan (and Baltic) spirits. 

The driving musical force behind the Katapulta EP, is bassist, conductor and alternative folk music enthusiast, Vincentas Lapinas – the man behind the Banda Dzeta orchestra which he started a couple of years ago in Vilnius. The main singer on “Katapulta” is Linas “Lencas” Starkus – a member of Baltic Balkan, who had a chance to remember his careless youth as the singer in one of the 
leading Lithuanian ska bands Tai–Ką. Contributing to the visual and sound design are the other two Baltic Balkan DJs, Linas “Namas” Masys and Marius “Marulis” Kneipferavičius.

The EP includes 5 remixes by DJ, bass musician and world music producer, Canalh from Toulouse specialized in new cumbia; a duo made up of Florence resident Ckrono and one of the fastest rising Lithuanian DJs Boyfriend; a true native of Yugoslavia and Koromandija World Music Store chef DJ Tito from Ljubljana; as well as dubstep, kuduro, folkstep master DJ SuperStereo from Budapest based New Radical Arts label.

"Following on from his remix of Ophex earlier this year Jersey Club sensation DJ Kiff returns to Meanbucket for his first full release on the label.

The Brick Bandits associate has been one of the break-through Jersey Club producers of 2011 but comes with something completely different for this EP.
