'Stand Still' features an extended cast of ‘friends’ including the vocals of close friend Micky Green, the highly respected Sydney-born-Paris-based pop singer whose sweeping melodies add bubblegum sweetness to an otherwise high-tempo single. The final mix also comes courtesy of James David, one half of mysterious UK duo Snakehips. Old friends of Micky’s, Jimmy and Hugo have also chosen to work with another familiar face for the official music video in Director Dave Ma, the creative force behind the ARIA 2013 nominated clip for much lauded single 'Clair De Lune'.

‘Stand Still’ will be available with three incredible remixes, featuring Sydney’s Wave Racer, Future Classic alumni (and Lithuania’s Producer of the Year) Mario Basanov, and New York’s Com Truise, who brings his synth-heavy sounds to the table.

For its 13th release Jerry Bouthier’s label Continental records is off to Zurich for an invigorating slice of tropical hip-pop, the perfect follow-up to JBAG’s summery anthem ‘Mogadisco’.

Introducing Mannequine, the duo comprising of gifted songwriter Claudio Salvia and versatile dj Ruben Cassiano also behind their Swiss hometown’s best club night. After kicking off their collaboration with bootlegs and edits, the pair soon moved onto producing tentalizing tunes, high on tasteful melodies and rich arrangements, naturally fusing funk, house, nu-disco, indie, r’n’b, beats… in one inspired spell that’s got a definite 2013 stamp to it.

Soon several remixes followed, including their impeccable dramadisco reinterpretation of Kill The Hero ft Maggie K de Monde ‘Surrender’ (the 3rd Continental release where they were running against fierce competition with remixes from the likes of Shazam, Play Paul/Tulip, Reflex, Lancelot…) and soon enough Mannequine got working on their debut release, a voluptuous invitation not short of vibey keys, bouncy beats and exotic fragrance.

Enter local rappers Jas Crew, three MC’s who between them combine five nations united under one name. These Swiss, with only one thing on their mind: music, as a whole in all its various forms and facets, have let their magic operate over Mannequine’s track and provided a fresh and infectious song. ‘Bombay Night Story’ was born, with a chorus catchier than chickenpox, this tale about a night out with loved ones offers a good piece of advice: it’s alright giving it all but make sure not to go overboard.

Take your pick between the original mixes: the glorious full-vocal, the none the less attractive and elegantly epic instrumental and Jerry Bouthier’s own dub edit which sits comfortably between the two. 
Lastly Shindu – Continental’s Belgian protégés - provide an astute, more introspective take that relies heavily on a deeper than deep bassline.

Here's the second bootleg from our 90s mix. Everything you hear in this one is from 1996. This may or may not be the final mashup we ever do, so lets all turn a blind eye just this one last time. To all you brow-raisers, keep that bushy little caterpillar above your right eyeball nice and low. In the spirit of the 90s (and even in the spirit of some classic Soulwax), here's another bootleg to add some nostalgia to your next hip hop soiree.

We weren't very old in '96, but we were certainly listening to to enough music to know what we enjoyed. Even to this day, Jamiroquai remains and inspiration to our productions. Look no further than Foreign Language to catch a few glimpses of Cosmic Girl. The 90s mix was inevitably going to be hip hop, but we wanted to somehow sneak in a few other songs that were instrumental to shaping the decade and our tastes. It worked out as one of the most fortunate coincidences that Hypnotize and Virtual Insanity were in key together. And we know how naff it can be to throw a Biggy acapella over anything, but in tribute to that particular year (and even decade), we had to pay respect to one of the best in the game.

As a fun side note, the drums are taken from The Fugees - Killing Me Softly (also from 1996). This bootleg is so jam-packed with 1996'ness, it's one Slap-band away from turning into a Troll Doll.
