Party Dad is a DJ and record collector hailing from the Carolinas. A passionate lover of music as well as the media by which it is distributed, he’s known for getting dancefloors moving to offbeat tunes rescued from dollar bins all along the eastern seaboard.

For the 159th Good Room Podcast he made a 80 minute mix featuring deep cuts alongside classics. Here's what he had to say about the mix: "I made this mix in the midst of a 12-hour living room listening session I had in lieu of watching this year’s Super Bowl. Not that I was purposely avoiding said sporting event, but I fell down a rabbit hole of 80s dub mixes and managed to record this before climbing out. These things happen sometimes when you’re a massive dork about records. Maybe I’ll catch the game next year."

For the 11th installment in our Just For The Night series, selectors take you on their own journey through groove. Anything goes.

Etched into the history of Italian House is one Carlo Troja, aka Don Carlos. In 1991 @IrmaRecords released his first single Alone, which almost immediately gained cult status. The soft, ambient, dream-like production defined a genre that came to be known as Paradise House. 

One of his more recent excursions that piqued our interest was a four-track EP on @razor-n-tape under artist name Montego Bay, all melodic house jams & sampled disco cuts. Don Carlos and S-Tone (Stefano Tirone @stoneinc) released two records on Bologna label Calypso in the early 90s and incredibly, the 4 tracks on this EP were produced 30 years ago, then shelved and forgotten about.

A true music obsessive, he has graciously delivered an hour of lush Mediterranean & Adriatic-soaked groovers from his extensive record collection. Benvenuti in paradiso. 🌴
