The latest mix in my pursuit to record my old Progressive house record collection and upload for safe keeping and sharing with you lot.

Mix 8 includes records by Bananarama & PM Dawn, but before you say it - I'm not going mad, they are remixes! Also in here are some proper old school progressive classics by artists including Klaus, Fishbone Beat, Lionrock, and The House PImps.

I hope the music brings back a few memories for those old enough to remember. Always happy to hear your thoughts, and sharing my mixes is the ultimate flattery you can show, so feel free...

Stubbzie's Progressive House Classics Mix 8 (1993)

A beautiful slice of history, and a permanent reminder of just how good Pete Wardman and Trade was [and still is] He brought it down at the start, then after nearly 12 hours on the floor, with the sweat pouring off us, the set went into orbit and finished with TdV [doubled up!] at over 165bpm The phazeing [flangeing?] isn`t post production, it was done on the night. Still, to this day, the most intense musical experience I`ve ever had. It`s a 17 year old tape, forgive the gaps for the ad-breaks taken out, worse still the ones left in but what can you do? Just enjoy it and remember the good times, that`s what!!....Absolutely incredible,..a thing of beauty is a joy forever. [Keats]

- unique remixes of fundamental masterpieces from the golden era of the 90s;
- fresh works by renowned masters of the new school;
- creations of rising stars of the scene;
- and a rare hidden gem — an authentic track from the 90s by Goa Phantasm.

Together, they form a grand musical canvas inspired by science fiction, visions of distant worlds, and dreams of interstellar travel.

A special milestone for us — for the very first time in the history of Global Sect, the label is releasing a vinyl edition. The record features four breathtaking remixes on Man With No Name, Pleiadians, Chi-A.D. and Etnica.

For this debut vinyl, we worked with some of the industry’s finest. Mastering and lacquer cutting were carried out by Beau Thomas (Ten Eight Seven Mastering), known for working on numerous releases of the legendary Aphex Twin. The vinyl production itself was entrusted to the iconic Dutch factory Record Industry (Haarlem).

Visual art plays no less an important role in this project. The design of the vinyl, CDs, cassettes, as well as fluorescent T-shirts and backdrops, is based on one of the earliest artworks created by our long-time friend and collaborator — Ahankara Art.

And that’s not all! As a special gift, we prepared a musical AI video clip for the remix of the timeless classic Teleport by Man With No Name.

This track is a hypnotic acid techno statement driven by speed, repetition, and mindset.
Built around a **150 BPM pulse in A minor**, it merges raw acid sequences with modern **hybrid techno** aesthetics — fast, trippy, and relentlessly forward-moving.

Distorted **303-style acid basslines** cut through tight, pulsating **808-driven kicks**, while modular textures, vocal chops, and reverb-heavy FX constantly reshape the groove. Fast transitions, filter sweeps, and rhythmic complexity keep the tension high and the energy locked.

### 🔧 Story – *From Bug to Feature*

This track exists because my **TB-303 died**.
Three hours before a **live act in a bunker**, no backup, no time to panic.

Instead, I built a **303 from scratch in Sonic Pi**, mapped it via **MIDI to an Arturia MiniLab MK2**, and started tweaking on the fly.
During setup, I accidentally mapped the **accent parameter to the modulation touch strip** — completely wrong, technically speaking.

But the result?
A living, breathing acid line with **manual accent control**, expressive, unstable, and raw.
What started as a mistake turned into a defining performance element.

**From bug to feature.**
Pure live energy, no safety net.

The structure of the track reflects that moment:
minimal in harmony, maximal in movement — built for **dark rooms, bunker systems, and hybrid live sets** where control and chaos meet.

The title reflects the mindset behind it all:
positivity, focus, and flow are choices — just like selecting the right elements in code, music, and life.

Play it loud.
Let it loop.
Let it work.
