With 'Zero' Claptone the DJ, producer and international man of mystery has finally dropped some long-awaited new music. He now invites two of the world’s most in demand artists to remix his original, UK based dubstep and house pioneer Skream and Chicago legend Gene Farris. The remixes are set for release April 1st via Different Recordings. 

The diverse and dynamic Skream is regarded as one of the most influential producers & DJs in contemporary electronic music, he has carved himself a momentous path since the early 2000s. The last 20 years have seen Oliver Jones aka Skream release on a variety of labels such as Hot Creations, Warner, FFRR, Sony, his own imprint 'Of Unsound Mind' and many many more. His remix of Claptone’s ‘Zero’ takes on a progressive House touch, layered with floating synth and tension packed crescendos. 

Gene Farris has remained at the forefront of House music, representing the esteemed Chicago House scene for over 30 years and continues to push the boundaries for the genre, moving effortlessly between all shades of House and Techno. Putting his distinct spin on Claptone’s original, Farris takes aim firmly at the dancefloor with driving House beats, flutes and metallic synths decorated with the original vocal. 

Making the most out of a year void of a busy touring schedule, Claptone’s long studio sessions have amassed some exciting new original material for 2021. ‘Zero’ is the first single to follow his most recently celebrated Ibiza summer hit ‘Drop The Pressure’ as well as remixes for Pop Stars such as Ava Max, Dua Lipa, Michael Kiwanuka and Mark Ronson. 

‘Zero’ is a dancefloor statement for Claptone’s 2021; helping us explore an accomplished and mysterious musical character.

Making the most out of a year void of a busy touring schedule, Claptone’s long studio sessions have amassed a wealth of exciting new original material including first release of 2021 ‘Zero’, a spellbinding tech house masterpiece.

Progressing from his signature electronic sound Claptone now layers new pop elements in ‘Golden’ blending with his inimitable dance music style, giving this release a fresh new feel. Here he has collaborated with Amsterdam/Stockholm based duo Two Another who’s soulful vocals perfectly compliment the track delivering a lower slung, slower vibe. 

“Golden” is no doubt a very positive and powerful song. You look back on all the difficult times you had to go through and realize how they made you much stronger. Claptone Collaborates With Alt / Electronic Indie Duo APRE On Anthemic Single ‘My Night’

Just turn on ‘My Night’ and - bam - you'll be hit by a confetti-cannon of fun. As Claptone puts it: “If I had a surfboard this is one [track] I’d instinctively develop a desire to catch a wave to. It’s one of those that you instantly wanna listen to again after it ends and again after it ends and so on. ‘My Night’ is simultaneously released with the cult movie inspired official video. Think 80s styling with a heavy dose of feelgood nostalgia throughout. The video follows two teenagers finding a secret underground dance floor and a place where they can show off their BMX skills. Directed by Keith Musil who has previously worked with Fox, Universal, Interscope, Warner Bros, Vice and GQ TV amongst many others.

This new release follows original singles Golden’ and ‘Zero’ and freshly released remixes on Storm Queen’s ‘For A Fool’ and Trans-X ‘Living On Video’ as well as reworks for pop superstars Ava Max, Dua Lipa, Michael Kiwanuka and Mark Ronson. 

Even not being able to tour has not slowed him down, continuing his worldwide visibility, he has now performed on over 50+ live streamed sets across 2020/21, with a staggering total of 63 Million combined views on YouTube. There are also plans ahead to return the most famous club in the world Pacha Ibiza with his now internationally renowned show ‘The Masquerade’, signifying that this year there is still much, much more to come.

‘My Night’ is International DJ and producer Claptone’s latest release co-produced with the almighty Stuart Price. It has everything a proper hit requires, it’s sticky like superglue, and only slightly less addictive than a Netflix binge. ‘My Night’ see’s the international underground producer flirt with pop delivering an infectious and feel-good booster just as intoxicating but this time very different than his underground releases. 

The package now gets the special remix treatment from some carefully curated and highly respected names, Myd, Ferreck Dawn and Picard Brothers who have reworked the release in their own signature styles. 

With the Myd remix you will find it full of relentless pace, with a heavy analogue kick drum and cowbel, floating gentle synths and a huge focus on the vocals. This is a brilliant simple, stripped down and super effective version.  Myd is an artist that is on the up, super creative, larger than life multi-instrumentalist and pioneer of club culture as part of Club Cheval. He has produced for SCH and Kanye West and is now part of the infamous ED Banger records family. 

The Ferreck Dawn remix conversely sits in Claptone’s underground world, driving and main room, with big builds and tension releasing drops. The feel is bouncy and Housey, with piano stabs that build and build into a long and tension building drop. It’s fun and energetic and a great DJ weapon in true Ferreck style.  Already an accomplished producer and DJ with the best part of 20 years’ experience on the international scene, he is supported by a wave of DJs that include Carl Cox, Luciano and Nic Fanciulli. He recently caught great hype with his vocal house stomper 'In My Arms' becoming a sure-fire dance anthem.

French filtered Disco - this is what you get from the Picard Brothers, having worked with the biggest artists in the world including Beyonce, Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, Major Lazer and Rudimental. Here they deliver a little of the French Touch, classic sounding disco house but still super contemporary.  Driving disco style beats, funky guitar licks and those famous French filters throughout.

So Claptone seeks not to create a world of secrecy, but one of great depth and intrigue. As one of the businest touring DJs and most prificfic producers around, Claptone is constantly unveiling more about the world he draws inspirstion from.

'Over the last two years it has been a great pleasure to work on this album as a counterpoint to the hectic world of travelling as a DJ. To lose myself when making music, to dive into and create my very own realm of beauty. I admit it's a dreamy, a heartfelt, at times a naive and surely escapist album, but what to do if one - on the quest for his soul - develops a strong desire to go back to his roots, back to nature? Did I find myself on that journey? Rather not. But I found some beautiful moments in the green, out in the woods, out in the fields, under the moon and in the night, moments, which I want to share with you. And there is one thing I learned and now it can be told, I am and have always been a ‘Fantast’.'
