"Kill Me" is a quirky ode to the transient beauty of human life on the planet and a stark warning that we may be abusing the very thing we cherish... "Life is as sweet as make believe, Baby wont you kill me when you leave!"

The B-Side Detox Blues deals with the more mondane problems impinging on our daily life, and cheekily confronts our most modern dilemma... Should we keep the party going at any cost or are we better off just staying in bed? (premiere by Gilles Peterson on BBC 6 Music 27-04-2013).

Fresh from hitting their first festival of the summer at Valencia’s Festival de les Arts this weekend, The Wombats can now unveil enigmatic producer Claptone’s remix of ‘Be Your Shadow’. The original version of  ‘Be Your Shadow’ is set to impact on June 22nd and features on the band’s current album ‘Glitterbug’ which hit #5 in the UK and #2 in Australia. 

Claptone's remixes for the likes of Metronomy, Pet Shop Boys, Klaxons and Gregory Porter have all been chosen because he feels an affinity with the original artist. This is evident throughout Claptone’s imaginative reinventions as he relishes translating such songs for the dance floor.

His interpretation of ‘Be Your Shadow’ strips the song back to basics before progressively rebuilding the track towards a heightened crescendo of sound. Throughout, Claptone expertly weaves beats and atmospheric soundscapes around The Wombats’ frontman Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy’s melodic vocal delivery. 

Claptone has worked hard to maintain his position as a consistently innovative global influencer. His big news for 2015 comes with his highly anticipated debut artist album, the campaign for which commenced when the track ‘The Music Got Me’ was picked as Pete Tong’s Miami Essential New Tune. ‘The Music Got Me’ and another new production ‘Dear Life’ subsequently stormed to the top of the Beatport charts. The album will be packed with vocal contributions from the likes of  Peter, Björn & John; Jimi Tenor; Nathan Nicholson (The Boxer Rebellion); Clap Your Hands Say Yeah; Young Galaxy; Jaw (from dOP); Jay-Jay Johanson and more. Claptone will then take his awe-inspiring 'Immortal Live' show to key festivals such as Melt! in Germany, Balaton Sound in Hungary and SW4 in London over the summer.
