The Basement Sessions is Clare's new EP, consisting of five tracks recorded in her Cork City basement. The record sees Clare and her eclectic band move into new territory; big band brass fused with Irish Traditional music, Latin grooves drenched with soulful, heartfelt singing in English, Irish & Italian, ripping Rock n' Roll guitar solos coined with sean-nós, thought-provoking lyrics amidst orchestral strings & synths.......With all songs and tunes penned by Clare and playing violin, electric guitar, cello, percussion, synthesiser and on vocals -  It is big and bold, energetic and eclectic,  honest and heartfelt.

Long-time friends and collaborators Clare Sands and Susan O’Neill were recently forced to brush their hair after being enticed out of their West of Ireland haunts to create this dark and dirty, big and bold, roar of the Atlantic, spine-tingling sea shanty.

With Susan on trumpet, congas, vocals and dulcimer, and Sands on violin, cello, vocals, and synth, the wild west of Ireland women recorded, engineered and self-produced their debut single together in 72 hours on location in Co. Clare.

The official video is a head bangin’, feet stompin’, cliff dancin’ film directed and shot by emerging visual artists and twin sisters Liadain and Kasia Kaminska over two freezing cold days in January.
