I'm experimenting with the weekly improvisational performance that I conducted in dance for five years, in music. Here is a regular song in not a regular way. Maybe a little bit of possession, actually: a songwriter hero stepping into me for a moment.

Weekly Rites is an experiment in song where I choose a small excerpt from a longer improvisation or set of songs. In this particular moment, I kept mixing up the chords. To help myself, I did a little call and response. It helped.
