The Architect roams the lower levels only to find familiar corridors leading somewhere else entirely. Doorways open to impossible landscapes, buildings breathe, and time inside the city no longer matches the clocks. Reality is melting into dream logic — and no one seems to notice but him.

The Architect has been wandering for days, though time has lost its grip here. In this place, streets rearrange themselves when you look away. He passes a corner bakery and, seconds later, finds it replaced by an open shore where waves hiss against cobblestones. No one seems alarmed. People walk as if nothing changes — their smiles faint, their eyes slow to blink — as if they’ve already made peace with living inside a dream.

The city feels alive, but not in the way machines live. It breathes, shifting with the rhythm of an unseen sleeper. Doorways lead to places that could not exist: a stairwell descending into clouds, an elevator that opens to a forest in autumn, a library whose shelves are lined with the names of people who haven’t been born yet.

The Architect begins marking his path with chalk on the walls, but each mark fades within moments, erased by the city itself. It’s as if the place resists permanence, as though it doesn’t want to be mapped — or remembered.

One night, under rain that tastes faintly of the sea, the Architect hears a voice from a window above: “It’s not the city that’s dreaming… it’s you.” The shutters close.

He stands in the empty street, unsure whether to move forward or to wake up — if waking up is still possible.

“Cities Made of Sleep” depicts a dreamlike, unstable world where urban landscapes shift, dissolve, and rewrite themselves, blurring the line between memory, illusion, and reality. Streets vanish, towers turn to grass, oceans appear and fade, and even names and maps cannot hold their place, suggesting a city that is alive, fluid, and indifferent to human attempts at permanence. The inhabitants, numbed to the constant transformations, accept the unreality as normal, while the narrator resists, trying to hold onto meaning in a place where nothing endures. 

The final twist — “it’s not the city that’s dreaming, it’s you” — reframes the disorientation as a projection of the self, making the city both a metaphor for the subconscious and a mirror of fragile human perception.

What exactly is Boogie? Is it a genre, an era, a style? Colours, clothes, textures are all part of its make up. For me, Boogie is the "top shelf" music of the 80's. Anything from this era that brings along Moog synths, vocoders, DX7s, or triggered Oberheim drum sounds, is Boogie!

Brasil has a huge archive of underground dance-floor heat. Different styles of music ranging from Macumba to Samba, MPB to Pop, Electro to early Hip Hop, were all stung by this Brasilian "Boogie Bug", cleverly orchestrated by geniuses of the style; Robson Jorge, Lincoln Olivetti, Junior Mendes, Mister Sam, Sergio Sá, to name a few, were the backbone of uncountable projects by big names of Brasil´s pop and underground music scene during the 80´s.

This compilation brings together a bunch of non-obvious "compactos" (33 RPM 7" singles), most of them, promos, which never saw the light of record store shelves, but instead sat for years in the dead-vaults of radio stations or ended up in sebos, flea markets, church basements to junk yards.

I´m excited to put together this eclectic selection inspired by the finest in brasilian 80's music. Even after so many years, Brasil's  most obscure boogie gem is yet to be found on a long diggin' session thru thousands of records full of weird looking haircuts, somewhere near São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. 
This project is dedicated to all the "Boogie Heads" doing what they do best, keep searching!

Disco Segreta announces DS M 006 official repress of 1984 italo-boogie track “Tobago” by Pat&Pats.

Ever dreamt to travel to Trinidad&Tobago? 
Disco Segreta makes this dream come true with its 6th release: the much awaited officially licensed reissue of this tropicalo-disco synth bass boogie atomic bomb, from the original analog masters.

Written in late 1983 by Mario Baldoni aka Miro (of “Real Life Games” LP (1977) and Brina’s “Stranamore” (1984) 7” fame), was originally released in July 1984 on the small Pineapple label  – a sublabel of Armando Sciascia’s “Vedette” – with close to no success and a pressing fault: a glitch on the vocal verse of the instrumental version, that affected all copies.
This tropical summerish blend of italo and boogie, along with the male/female alternate spanish/english singing, turned into a true classic of the genre over the years, slowly making the playlists of the most respected DJs and diggers worldwide. 

The 4-tracks 12" features the original vocal and instrumental versions in their original lenght, carefully dubbed from the analog stereo masters and taken back to new life through Disco Segreta’s usual respectful mastering. Also, two new remixes are featured.

“Miro’s Piano Paradise” on A2, is the truly unique chance of a new revamped version by the track original author, resulting in a balearic-infused mellow rework, inspired to 1989-1993 italian house era, whose key elements were – among others - repeated melodic piano chord progressions alongside lustful female vocals and the blueprint factory presets sounds of the likes of KORG M1, Roland TB-909, and D50.
Flipside sees on B2 the chiefs of Berlin’s “Oscillator” and “Dancing for Mental Health” parties, Tom Bolas & Andrea Dama, working with their “Bolas&Dama Dub”, a contemporary rendition of a possible “Dub” version of Tobago.

Sillyboy’s Ghost Relatives can proudly claim to be “Greek radio’s favourite soft rock band”. The Athens-based quartet – fronted by bass-wielding former TV commercial composer turned Balearic popster Charalambos Kourtaras – are rising stars in their home country, with listeners warming to their distinctive blend of atmospheric guitars, retro-pop synths and head-in-the-clouds grooves.

So far, international stardom has passed them by, though their distinctive songs have caught the ear of a range of DJs across the globe. One was Claremont 56 founder Paul ‘Mudd’ Murphy, who has worked his magic on one of the band’s previously unreleased gems, “In A Small Place”.

Perfectly capturing the claustrophobic reality of life in a small, remote town or village where everyone knows everyone else’s business, the song sees Sillyboy plan his escape over a mesmerizing backing track rich in ghostly synthesizers, chunky bass guitar, spacey electronics and a shuffling groove that sits somewhere between pitched-down dub disco and early ‘80s West Coast AOR.

Murphy’s “Extended Version” allows the track room to breathe, teasing out the clandestine and atmospheric instrumentation – eyes-closed guitar solos included – before introducing Sillyboy’s rueful and paranoid vocals. You’ll find the Greek band’s slimmed-down – and arguably even more trippy – original version on the B-side, completing a fittingly high quality musical package to kick-start Claremont 56’s 2019 release schedule.
