I Miss You (Radio Edit) (ft. snowflake)

I may have gone a little crazy with sample usage on this one. :)

At the very least, I broke a personal record for most tracks (24!) in a single song. Practicing restraint was difficult as I kept wanting to build and build on this one. As such, I don’t really know how to categorize/tag this remix.

A lot of different elements ended up in the final cut (and even more before I started trimming down). From my Secret Mixter assignment, KarmaHacker, I took a rhythmic bass loop, 3 drum loops, a zither sample, a sitar sample, a record scratch sample, and snippets of 3 of KarmaHacker’s own remixes. The vocal hook is from KCentric. State Shirt and snowflake provided some extra vocal layers, and finally I got the sax sample from debbizo. The rest you can blame on me. :)

I recorded this with my friend Wes Hardy maybe almost 10 years ago. It started out as just a little jam session and we decided to record it. It's mostly one-take recordings though so it's very rough. Don't know if we'll ever really finish this so I figured I'd post it as-is.

My Secret Mixter assignment was Scomber who wrote Fishes in the Sea and posted it on ccMixter a few months ago. Since the theme of this Secret Mixter was the beach I couldn't resist recording a cover of the song.

This is my first time trying to do reggae as well as my first time trying to sing and record my own vocals. Regardless, hope you enjoy!

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow (live cover w/ Logan Pate)

A few months ago the video game developer I work for was producing a small zoo-themed educational kids’ game called Kinderzoo. We didn’t have any music for it, so I was asked to take a stab at what I could come up with. This short one-minute track is the result.

I tried to use elements of African instruments like the kalimba and djembe while also having a very simple and child-like melody/chord progression. Also, since this was built for use in a game, the song has no outro/fade and is designed to loop.

Could Be (ft. Jenny Mayhem, Jesse Taylor, unreal_dm, boxboy333)

I am a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none musician. I like trying to play and compose virtually all styles and genres of music (with varying degrees of success), but unfortunately that means I’m not really an expert at any of them. 

My primary instruments are keyboards and guitar. I have been playing for most of my adult life - mostly as a hobby, but for a few years as a semi-professional guitarist in a Top 40 cover band. I’d say I’m better on the guitar, but guitar is much more of a pain to setup for recording so I tend to do more keyboard recording out of laziness.

I'm a big fan of the Creative Commons licensing model and intend to release all of my music under such a license. I am also a regular musician/producer at the Creative Commons remixing site ccMixter.
