16 BIT was a German dance project by Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti that existed from 1986 to 1989.

For the first single Where Are You?, Sven Väth, with whom the producer duo had already worked for the OFF project, took over the vocal part. The song entered the German charts in November 1986 and reached number 11. In spring 1987, Changing Minds was a second chart success in Germany. The single, which features a computer voice, climbed to number 19.

(In-a) Gadda-Da-Vida, a cover version of the 1968 Iron Butterfly hit, was also released in 1987. The track, sung by Eddie Hind, a member of the duo Picnic at the Whitehouse, failed to chart, as did the follow-up singles Too Fast to Live (1988) and Hi-Score (1989). On Too Fast to Live, Sven Väth's voice, who also wrote the track, was heard again for the first time since Where Are You?

A version of Where Are You? with opera vocals appeared in 1998 under the title Où-es-tu?
