Last year, Jamz Supernova launched a brand new club series via her label, Future Bounce, turning to dancefloor sounds. Kicking off volume 2 of the series is The Busy Twist who first approached the label as part of their competition late 2020 and opened the dialogue to sign him for the next round of releases. Speaking of the collaboration, Jamz says, “we couldn't be happier to kick off vol 2 of the Club series with an esteemed producer such as The Busy Twist! These tracks embody everything we love, perfect for the club but inspired by the African Diaspora, showcasing The Busy Twist at his best!” 

Formerly a duo until 2015, The Busy Twist is headed by DJ and producer Oliver Williams, riding solo. Remaining rather elusive until now, he is ready to make his mark as the mastermind behind the vibrant music offerings they have become so known for. Always looking to join the dots between Afro, Latin and UK Bass, this new EP continues in that vein with an added splash of heads-down rave energy. Oliver aka The Busy Twist says of the records “ I wanted to create something that brings the listener back to the centre of a gig at prime time and recreate that nostalgic feeling of my early releases. I decided to go back to Ghana which was an integral part of the early Busy Twist sound. A visit to the Labadi Warriors and a jam session ended up being the components for “World Of The Spirits.” Already road tested in Jamz’ BBC Radio 1 ‘Essential Mix’, these tracks are primed and ready to be unleashed to the world.

The Bristol-DMV connection builds as Hodge and JIALING remix a track each from Om Unit & James Bangura’s Rushing 1621 EP.

Hodge has been releasing gold for years – but it feels like he’s on a rich vein of form even for him right now, doing his part for diva vocals on new single ‘Free’ and collaborating with Nakamura Minami on a release for Tokyo’s TREKKIE TRAX. Range, people! He goes heavy on the delay and takes ‘Angles’ deep into the sunset tech-house (as in, proper tech-house) zone.

JIALING meanwhile builds on her recent run of anthems for our Clasico sibling label, flipping between breaks and 4x4 drums with itchy baile funk signifiers and airhorns for the late night crew. Does J ever miss?
