Here's a song that was born during a "summer-seaside" jam. 
Sometimes when you pass by a stranger it happens that you
feel a good vibe and a desire to meet him or her.
But, everybody has their own things in their life and often
it happens to leave after a short eye contact while passing by.
This song was inspired by this common situation.

Class Iko - Minute

This song is about feeling good and enjoying the moment. It was inspired by the great time that we had while playing street music and seaside jamming. It goes out to all the good people that we've that way.
One summer day in 014, we were doing street music and a couple of guys stopped to listen. That’s how we met DiePlomaten. The very next day all of us were playing the streets of a small town and ‘What I’ve Got’ became our live anthem. We would keep on looping the song’s groove and improvise, mix it with their rap parts etc. We love to play it and it’s always hard to stop once we’ve started. Because…you want ‘this feeling’ to last as long as possible. 
The next Summer we were recording the song. We waited for DiePlomaten to come to Croatia and record the chorus with us. And that’s how we gave life to this track.

012 - The EP

01 - What I've Got (Class Iko EP - 012)


When you pass by a complete stranger and you feel ‘that’ connection…just a short eye contact that takes your thoughts far away…the very next moment you find yourself in the company of a strong desire to meet her/him. But a minute has passed and it could be too late. That’s what ‘Minute’ is all about.
The song was born during a spontaneous seaside jam between Diego and Ceke. The basic melodies are from the summer of 013. One year later, we recorded the whole story. 
Adry from noRegrets helped us to record the vocals. Vita and her voice is part of the song as well.

02 - Minute (Class Iko EP - 012)

It’s about love and breakups. Together is the newest song on 012 - Our first EP.
It has been a long road to compose this one. Here is (a part of) the story behind it.

Amsterdam (Netherlands), 28.07.015, 3-4 AM: Diego, while killing time with Ceke in a hotel room, started playing the melodies (with some words here and there) on his acoustic guitar. The next day they forgot about the song. Fortunately, he recorded on the cell phone those ideas.

Rovinj (Croatia), August 015: Veki (on a 7 days holiday) is chilling with Ceke under the Sun. Ceke stumbled upon those recordings and decided to continue where Diego stopped. A good part of the lyrics came out within a couple of hours (completely unusual for him). 
Diego, during a late night seaside jam, hears the lyrics. He wrote his verse straight the next day. Veki is still in Rovinj and the recording/production starts. A rush of ideas and concepts takes control of the song. The sea sounds are live recordings from Rovinj.

Karachi (Pakistan), October 015: Ceke records the sounds from the Nylum Valley, in the heart of Pakistan. 

Zagreb (Croatia), 12.12.015: Veki and Ceke are recording the guitars and working on the instrumental. Ceke captures the city sounds.

Rovinj, January 016 : The mix is inside Ceke’s laptop. Ceke is about to move to Dublin within a couple of days. Veki to Amsterdam. Time is running out and we sacrifice our sleep in order to finish the song. We need some backing vocals and have no idea ‘who’ and ‘how’. But there is a cute band in UK that Ceke has heard on YouTube a couple of years ago.

Bristol (UK), 09.01.2016 - The guys from My Style receive an email where they are asked to lay down some backing vocals for a small band they never heard of. They behave as friends would. In a couple of hours we received their amazing part.

Ceke almost didn’t sleep for 3 days to finish the mixing before leaving. The song is done. 

We did our best, now it’s up to you.

03 - Together (Class Iko EP - 012)

Let’s start with a love song. ’Sometimes’ is our first ‘recorded one’. Diego and Ceke played it for the first time during a seaside jam. Later, Diego wrote the lyrics. 
During the Summer of 012 the three of us worked together as a band for the first time. We had a couple of days to figure out ‘what’ and ‘how’ to record something. We picked ‘Sometimes’ because it sounded simple and nice. Nobody knew what to expect or how to do it. We just kept on recording and mixing until we found this sound. 
We hoped for some feedback from random people around the world. The response on Youtube was amazing. Reading comments of people feeling the song gave us the motivation and courage to keep on delivering what we feel. A honest ‘Thank you’ goes out to our supporters.

04 - Sometimes (Class Iko EP - 012)

012 was ‘That Year’. This was our second song and it was crucial for us. It’s a simple song where everyone followed his basic musical instinct. Our style became much more clear thanks to this tune. Since 012, we play Reggae-Rock. 
Diego had an idea. The band was split between two cities. He played that to Ceke (via Skype) who went nuts for the song within the first 5 seconds. There was no doubt this was going to be our ‘next one’.
Since then, the collaboration between Traveller Productions (Veki) and FayaTone Inc. (Ceke) became the recipe for our sound.

The song talks about the end of the World. Seen through our eyes and with our message clearly stated. The Mayan civilisation wrote something about that year as well. Cheers if you also think that the end of the world happened in 012.

05 - 012 (Class Iko - EP 012)

This is the second part of our ’third recorded one'. To be honest we are not very proud of the first part of the song. It was recorded in the wrong time. But, we are proud of the second part. 

Back then (013) Ceke and Veki in Zagreb were going crazy with their exams. The production of Roots was a good excuse (from studying) for wasting time on Youtube searching for cool Hip Hop-ers to collaborate with. And so Ceke stumbled upon D. Grymes. We liked his style and asked him to jump on Roots. Within a couple of messages his rap part was part of our mix. Cheers to him. He filled the beat perfectly and signed our first collaboration.

06 - Roots (Highlights) Feat D. Grymes (Class Iko EP - 012)

That's all about us for now. During the past four years we recorded some songs and a selection of 5 and a half tracks made our first EP (entitled ‘012’). It should be here somewhere, around your cursor. It’s homemade, we are proud of it and happy to share it with you.

After our families and loved ones, a huge ‘Thank You’ goes out to all our supporters around the globe. 
The appreciation of our music by someone we just (or never) met is probably the biggest motivation we could get. Thank you for supporting us here on the web or when playing out.

A special ‘Cheers’ goes out to everybody that helped us while recording our songs. And here they are:
