Noted journalist, sportswriter, and later President of Churchill Downs Bill Corum (1895-1958) gives the postgame assessment after Game 1 of the 1945 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Cubs. Corum is the inventor of the phrase “Run For The Roses,” and his verbiage in this clip definitely illustrates his colorful, humorous grasp of the language.
