Pour entrer dans la nouvelle saison, voici une sorte d'élégie. Et sur les chemins où crissent sous nos pas les feuilles d'automne,   j'aurais rencontré Samuel Barber ou bien Gustav Mahler...

Para entrar en la nueva temporada, aquí va una especie de elegía. Y en los caminos donde crujen bajo nuestros pies las hojas de otoño, me habría encontrado con Samuel Barber o tal vez con Gustav Mahler...

This piece is a tribute to John Williams, Christopher Reeve, and Margot Kidder.

This latest piece is a tribute to John Williams, from whom I reprise two themes here from Richard Donner's 1978 film Superman with Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder (both of whom have since passed away). I intertwine two themes (Krypton's theme and The Flying Sequence). This film marked one of my first encounters with John Williams' music. He is one of the great film composers who led me to appreciate classical music. Although he was a very good jazz musician originally, one could consider him the heir to a whole musical heritage that ranges from Stravinsky to Puccini, including John Elgar and many others. Thank you, Mister Williams.

Ce dernier titre est un hommage à John Williams, dont je reprends deux thèmes ici du film "Superman" de Richard Donner (1978) avec Christopher Reeve et Margot Kidder (tous deux disparus depuis). Deux thèmes que j'entremêle (Krypton's theme et "the flying sequence"). Ce film a marqué pour moi une des premières rencontres avec la musique de John Williams. C'est un des grands compositeurs de cinéma qui m'a conduit à aimer la musique classique .On peut considérer,  bien que - très bon - jazzman à l'origine, qu'il est  l'héritier de tout un patrimoine musical qui va de Stravinsky à Puccini, en passant par John Elgar, et bien d'autres..

Entrelazo dos temas (El tema de Krypton y The Flying Sequence). Esta película marcó uno de mis primeros encuentros con la música de John Williams. Es uno de los grandes compositores de cine que me llevó a apreciar la música clásica. Aunque fue originalmente un muy buen músico de jazz, se le puede considerar el heredero de todo un legado musical que abarca desde Stravinsky hasta Puccini, incluyendo a John Elgar y muchos otros. Is it due to this April autumn? Or watching 'Emily,' Frances O'Connor's 2022 biopic, which vividly portrays the romantic destiny of Emily Brontë and her only novel, 'Wuthering Heights'? Surely it is the wonderful music of its composer, Abel Korzeniowski. Here I am again, where the wind remains.

Among the works in the piano repertoire, François Couperin's 'Les Barricades Mystérieuses' have always hypnotized me. The word 'barricade' conveys the idea of protecting oneself, of finding refuge. Isn't music, at its core, a refuge?

Parmi les œuvres du répertoire pianistique, 'Les Barricades Mystérieuses' de François Couperin m'ont toujours hypnotisé. Le mot 'barricade' évoque l'idée de se protéger, de trouver refuge. La musique n'est-elle pas, au fond, un refuge ?
