Dan Shake has achieved what no other has in over a decade: with his debut release in the music world, he's become the very first producer without Detroit heritage or residency to land a release on Moodymann's prestigious record label Mahogani Music. Based in London, the former Leeds student secured the feat in a charmingly anachronistic fashion: having just watched Kenny Dixon Jr perform alongside the 3 Chairs at Dimensions Festival, Dan simply handed over a demo CD with a collection of unreleased tracks. Moodymann was hooked instantly, taking the first plunge on welcoming an outsider into his tight-knit crew of Detroit strong artists. 
Citing influence from the rhythms of Afrobeat pioneers, the soul-drenched sampling of J Dilla and the dense grooves laid out by contemporary producers such as Flying Lotus, Dan's situation in winding up on a label renowned for encompassing all those traits is a blessing for the young producer.

After many years producing quality underground dance music under numerous aliases, Fulgeance is delighted to present his new collaboration with Darius Broobecker: CLAUDE. Taking its inspiration from disco and classic house music, this EP blends Chicago House and UK Bass in a uniquely French way.
The latest signings to Fulgeance’s own Musique Large imprint, CLAUDE have already produced remixes for techno pioneer Laurent Garnier, indie rock band Samba De La Muerte & beatmaker Neko Neko. This, their debut EP, was made with dance music lovers in mind, and has already found support from Pedro Winter (Ed Banger), Garnier & Osunlade. Artwork is a collaboration between Rekick (Musique Large Label Boss), Emile Sacré‘s logo and french comic illustration legend Floc’h, the man behind Woody Allen’s «Hollywood Ending» and Alain Resnais «Smoking/No Smoking» movie posters.
This EP kicks off with the synth-funk of Claudius and title track Solid.
The insistently catchy Shake Your Head & Go! is a dance floor bomb whilst on the B side smashers Damn Thang and Bip Bap are juxtaposed with the afro-influenced Hum. The duo show their softer side to close the EP with
In Love « avec beaucoup d’amour » and a healthy dose of sub bass.

Il signe ici son 4ème opus sous le blaze le plus dancefloor du producteur normand, cette fois en dehors de la maison, sur le label La Freund Recordings.

Nous avons le plaisir de vous dévoiler en exclusivité le titre "All Right", un gros banger qui comme d'habitude avec le Caennais transpire le groove. Pour les habitués de son style Low Club, on en retrouve les fondations, avec un rythme au-dessus et un peu plus deeper. Une recette qui devrait faire remuer pas mal de jambes sur les dancefloors !

À noter que l'EP, qui sortira ce 24 octobre, contiendra 2 remixes signés par Duke Hugh et The Maghreban (R&S Records).

There was little sign that it might be any different in the next day, week, month or year. The future was bleak but yet somehow he took comfort in the knowledge of this. Walking through the empty park at night he felt the moist damp of the long grass beneath his bare feet, it was cold and chilling but offered a perfect accompaniment to the ambience and reflection of his mood. The night was deadly quiet and he wondered if there was another living soul on earth who felt this way... Was anybody out there?

Claude is set to release a new EP on La Freund, an imprint which has found a run of form as of late and the latest is no exception. Complete with two delicious remixes from Duke Hugh and The Maghreban, this is a special package.

Musical renaissance man Fulgeance lands on La Freund Recordings under his Claude moniker. A two track EP made for warm and cozy dance floors worldwide.

Remixes by Duke Hugh and The Maghreban round up this uplifting and varied EP.

Fulgeance aka Claude has been making music from all sides of the electronical spectrum under various aliases for over a decade, releasing on labels such as Musique Large, Ed Banger and Nowadays to name a few.

This is the fourth release under his Claude moniker, which he uses for his more uptempo endeavours. A1 is for Future, an uplifting track that combines warm Wurlitzer chords and disco breaks with deep SE1 basslines. Duke Hugh's mid-tempo boogie influenced remix is ideal for the summer or to bring the summer back when it's not around.

The B-side brings you All Right. Things get a bit deeper and darker here. R&S Records' the Maghreban delivers a tropical take on the original with with heavy broken percussion and afro beat sounding synths.

Brazilian Love (Batukized edit)

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Motown, the iconic record label launched in 1959 in Detroit, Michigan by Berry Gordy Jr., Carhartt WIP will release a thirteen-piece capsule collection in the coming weeks. The collaboration honors a label that reshaped the sound of American pop music, diversifying its airwaves in the process. 

To mark the collection launch, we reached out to Detroit native Kenny Dixon Jr. aka Moodymann and asked him to prepare a strictly Motown music Carhartt WIP Radio show, that displays his personal love for the label.
 
As Moodymann is not man for hasty reactions, he delivered a detailed mix featuring rare b-sides, interviews and live recordings by Motown artists like Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Steve Wonder, Kem and Dazz Band. Asked about his very own feelings towards his mix, Kenny Dixon Jr. simply says: “No matter where I‘m standing it’s good to hear home sometimes. These songs are woven into the soundtrack of my own personal movie.”  There is nothing more to add, only: enjoy the ride!
