'Get Real' is the new project from legendary producers, Green Velvet & Claude VonStroke.
The pair, hailing from Chicago and Detroit, headed out on the road together for a string of shows at the tail end of 2015. Get Real was born and VonStroke was soon heading to Green Velvet’s Chicago studio to work on new music.  The result of that trip is the debut Get Real EP featuring two slices of amazing future funk from two creative giants.

As one of our most beloved Dirtybird Players, Justin Martin travels the world week in and week out putting smiles on people's faces, always with an even bigger grin of his own. With his sophomore album, 2016's 'Hello Clouds', Justin proved that it's more than just fun and games - he's a seriously talented producer. 

His songwriting skills were on display with unique vocalists Charlotte OC, FEMME, and Lena Cullen, and his production chops were flawless on his solo tracks and collaborations with Kill Frenzy, Will Clarke, Ardalan and his brother Christian Martin.

Hello Clouds debuted at #1 on the iTunes Dance chart and Beatport's album chart, and hit #15 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums Chart the week after its release; these stats are a testament to the brilliance of the album and the way its diverse sounds resonated with fans both old and new.

While it can be argued that the original album was largely for listeners, there's no doubt that the Hello Clouds remixes are squarely aimed at DJs and dance floors the world over. Justin hand-picked the twelve artists who he thought would best reinterpret his work and, as with the original album, he's knocked it out of the park here.

Fellow Dirtybird Ardalan's epic version of the title track diverges from the basement vibes of Jakwob's mix, while the Christian Martin collab 'Midnight' sees a new day courtesy of both party-starters Soul Clap and life-of-the-party Doorly.

Justin opened his Campout set with Walker & Royce's explosive mix of 'The Feels', which also gets reworked by UK hero Low Steppa, and UK also gets another representation with Redlight’s mix of “Wet Cat'

South Africa's Kyle Watson turns the moody 'Odyssey' into a peak-time monster, while Little By Little gives us both a vocal and dub mix of the equally sultry 'Rabbit Hole.' Fresh-faced producer Lenny Kiser leaves his mark on the Charlotte OC single as well. 

Rounding out the package is a bona fide jungle remix of 'Back to the Jungle' by the drum-n-bass icon DJ Marky, along with a massive remix of the same tune from the one and only Chris Lorenzo.

We’ve had an epic year of music in 2017, and in years past we usually put out a collection of music for our New Years Special compilations. This year we’re switching it up and dropping just one final banger, Ryan Forever’s “Nasty”.

If you were at our Dirtybird West Campout for the infamous Family Set, then you’re already familiar with this monster. After a steady stream of all-stars, Ryan flipped the vibe and dropped “Nasty” and the entire festival went completely bonkers. 

As soon as we snapped back into reality from the campout we hit up Ryan the next week, signed the track, and invited him back for our East Coast campout in February.

Our boss Claude VonStroke is the busiest guy we know. When he's not traveling the world or curating an event, he's in the studio every day putting in hours upon hours, relentless in perfecting his craft. He's had a slew of hits the past couple years in the form of remixes and collaborations, and now with the "Walay (My Bae)" EP, Claude gets back to some inventive and somewhat "out of the box" solo works.

The title song leads with a melodic riff and an funky vocal that sounds like a defective cyborg is proclaiming love for his partner, "Walay." This quasi-human uses the slang "My Bae" to try and pass for human and we almost believe in his passion. The sound harkens back to old classic rave tracks but also pushes very modern production techniques.

Claude VonStroke created a small underground record label called Dirtybird in 2005 and grew it into a full-fledged events, clothing and music brand over the last 15 years. During this time, he has also managed to release 4 artist albums and some of the most iconic house music tracks of the last two decades. 
 
Most people know Claude VonStroke for his smiling DJ persona touring every major city, festival, and basement after-party around the world. But Claude has also influenced the very fabric of the dance community, A&Ring an impeccable roster of acts like Justin Martin, Fisher, Shiba San, Catz n Dogz, Riva Starr, Tim Green, Breach, Eats Everything, Walker & Royce, Shadow Child, and countless others. (And even naming a few of these artists.) Today, his Dirtybird label continues to surprise and innovate in the underground dance scene, releasing an enigmatic combination of house, funk, dirty bass, and electronica.
 
VonStroke has released four original artist albums, a remix album, and a live album recorded when he closed the famed Movement Festival in his original hometown of Detroit, Michigan. Some other music highlights include working on records with Bootsy Collins, Rihanna, Disclosure and Kevin Saunderson, as well as a few #1 and #2 hits on Beatport.  His partnership with Green Velvet as “GET REAL” has been one of the most rewarding friendships as Claude originally modeled his career off the quirky enigmatic style of his mentor and now good friend from Chicago. 
 
In 2015, VonStroke brought his first festival to light called Dirtybird Campout, a unique boutique festival based on the games and activities associated with American Summer camp mixed with the best underground house and bass music in the world.  He continues to innovate and curate new events with 2 additional multi-day festivals mirroring his Birdhouse radio show in Los Angeles and Chicago, and his record BBQ event series that has been going since 2003!
 
VonStroke also loves art; most notably pop-surrealist artwork that he has commissioned for the last 7 years on Dirtybird for all of the releases.  Each year he hires a new artist and has had the pleasure of working with renowned artists such as Jeremy Fish, Dulk, Graham Carter, Dan May, Charlie Immer, Raoul Deleo and Felicia Chiao. Walking through the Dirtybird HQ in Los Angeles is like walking through an art gallery in the Wynwood district of Miami. 
 
A lot of his success can be attributed to a good attitude. Claude does not scowl or look mean while he DJs. He does not pretend to know everything and he truly loves his fans. He is grateful to be curating, creating and performing music for a living and he knows that the reason people go to parties is to shake their booty and have fun.
