Last year, Nala came across a Blind Melon MTV Unplugged performance that struck a chord, so she decided to make a bootleg for her shows. She played it a couple of times and put it away.

It wasn't until a couple of months ago, that her DJ partner-in-crime Vnssa inspired her to put the track out.

With her encouragement, Nala decided to share this extremely unusual and random ID for free. In addition to the original acid-tinged, Crystal Method-inspired OG remix, she's added a second much more tame house version for those who aren't keen on the whacky world of electro beat.

Ok, so we did this remix at the end of last year, whilst on tour... really with the sole intention of having it as dub to play it in our DJ sets. However, it consistently went down nicely at our shows, so we figured we should really pass it on to you guys. It's unofficial... just us having fun on that old rolling fidget/bass style.

2016 has been a stand-out year of releases on Dirtybird, including the launch of both our sister label Dirtybird Select, as well our subscription service, the Birdfeed. But the year isn’t over just yet, and it’s not in our nature to just sit on the bench and ride it out, especially as we’ll be ringing in 2017 on a weekend. So we decided to double-down on our end of year special, and present 10 brand new originals to end the year with a bang. 

Featuring nearly a dozen artists across an array of genres, the second volume of “The New Years Special” includes Dirtybird staples Walker & Royce & Sage Armstrong, newest members of the family Dateless, Sirus Hood and Ciszak, and household names Roland Clark & Weiss. 

It wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t debut a few new artists as well, so we added some breakthrough tracks from future talents Egopool, 6ftshort, Slow Jam and Elevator Music.

Fire up the grills and bust out the speakers, BBQ Season is back! The season also brings a brand-new annual Dirtybird BBQ Compilation, “Filthy Flavor”, filled to the brim with 11 original tracks and mixed by Christian Martin.

“Filthy Flavor” kicks off with a collaboration between Sacha Robotti & Desert Hearts’ Mikey Lion, and continues with appearances from some familiar Dirtybird faces like Kill Frenzy, German Brigante and a special VIP remix of Justin Martin & Will Clarke’s “Back to the Jungle”, this time with more Jungle.

We also added some savory tunes from several accomplished producers who make their debut on Dirtybird—Kolombo, Hatiras, Codes & DJ E-Clyps.

Rounding out the full-flavored comp is fresh faces Josh Brown, Bess Maze and Ed Lee.
