After studying guitar at the University of Chile, Claudio Hernández arrived in Europe on 2004 to study lute with Paul Beier and Hopkinson Smith, great pedagogues in the highest execution of plucked string instruments of the Renaissance, whose sense of unity Between interpreter and instrument have had a lasting effect on him.
Claudio Hernández, founded the ensemble "Ensemble Kayros", along with leading Chilean interpreters of historic instruments obtaining important experiences in chamber music that have been a creative complement to his work as a soloist.
It has been presented in several scenarios as soloist, in the main cities of South and Central America; and Europe, having qualified and appreciated critics of the public.
Among them, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Argentina, Costa Rica, Austria, Belgium and the USA highlighting invitations from "La Sociedad de la Vihuela", Spain; "The Wake Forest University", USA. usa  "Lute Society", England; "International Festival of Ancient Music of Costa Rica", Costa Rica; "International Festival of Ancient Music of the USACH", Chile; and the "Argentine Association of Lute and antique guitars", Argentina.
On 2016, he premiered his album "Dowland's Lamentation", dedicated to the composer and virtuoso lutenist Elizabethan, John Dowland.
He currently serves as a teacher of lute at the "Musical Academy of Extension" of the University of Chile, in Santiago de Chile.
