Top Shelf Disco is a record label, event production company, and DJ collective based out of Los Angeles, CA. Known for serving up the best-in-class house and disco music both at the club and via its releases, Top Shelf Disco aims to bring a fun, energetic, and positive approach to nightlife and has hosted parties at notable venues across Southern California including Sound Nightclub, 41 Ocean, Nameless Nightclub, Los Globos, Circle OC, Senator Jones, Firehouse PB, Tower 12 and way too many renegades to name.

NSYNC - I Want You Back (clavette Reboot)

Fresh out of Los Angeles comes a whole new take on Beyoncé’s 2003 smash hit “Crazy in Love”. clavette and Racket Club are unleashing their Nu Disco edit of the track on audiences all over the world and they wanted you to be among the first DJs to spin it live.

Sitting around clavette’s studio in LA the two were looking for a well-known track to put their stamp on that would result in an immediate party-starter. But they wanted to create something a little off the beaten path from the typical Bass and Tech sounds that are so common around Southern California.

Combining clavette’s polished production skills with Racket Club’s passion for driving bass lines and Hip-Hop inspired vocals the track came together over the course of a week. The duo even recruited rising star LEFTI to contribute guitar licks that adds some true funk and soul to the production. Adding Jay-Z’s vocals in for the first drop gets the audience hyped rather than waiting til the end for his part to shine.

What started out as a cheeky idea turned into what will be one of the sure-shot releases of the Summer as the world starts opening back up and parties go from 0 to 100 real quick. Already picked up by Space Yacht label bosses London Bridges and Hidden Hen as well as Insomniac co-collaborator Adam Auburn there’s no denying this one will fit in set lists from beaches to pools to main stages at festivals.

clavette and Racket Club have been DJing in the States from coast to coast for over two decades combined. Both run the label Top Shelf Disco out of Los Angeles with clavette seeing his own productions out on Toolroom, Simma Black, Deep Root Records, and many more.

back with another nite + day edit and this time i present to you the delegations one hit wonder in the U.S. "Oh Honey." A staple of the disco and funk scene in the late 70's and early 80's, delegation packed dance floors with their addictive grooves. this edit pack aims to present both the poolside and the warehouse with something sure to pack the same floor filling energy.

A re-imigination of a childhood r&b classic for me. I used to jam this track so hard back in 2003. I would throw in my headphones I had gotten from radioshack that barely covered my ears and pump the volume on my mp3 player and just be in awe of the beat on this track.

when i started to appreciate funk and disco and came across this sample from the commodores, i immediately was transported back to those early days of listening to music in the car on trips to various sporting events and things i was involved in.

my whole attempt with this edit was to capture some of those emotions in a feel good pool party style track, even if we can't enjoy this in the company of our friends by a pool just quite yet. maybe this brings back those feelings for you too, let me know if it does.

It's a certified fact that I am a child of the late 90's R&B and Hip Hop scene. Growing up, OutKast was, and still is, one of my favorite artists, having been introduced to them by friends via their ATLiens album. Everyone knows "Hey Ya" and the massive success of Speakerboxxx / The Love Below album. Diving into the rest of their catalog, you find that OutKast just did things differently. Everything from the samples they chose to flip, all the way to the spellings of title's for albums and tracks. With the scene being dominated by New York based Hip Hop groups like Wu-tang, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, the duo from Atlanta had to switch things up. SpottieOttieDopaliscious is a perfect example of this ethos. My take on this tune was to highlight the best parts, which in my opinion are the iconic horn line, Andre 3000's verse depicting the coming of age in Atlanta nightlife, and the incomparable Genesis sample. Ready for the dance floor, I hope this edit brings back memories and get's those feet tapping.

While Chicago is certainly the birthplace of House music, Milwaukee can also lay claim to House history, specifically the French flavor. Debuting in North America in 1996, Daft Punk played their first States side show in Milwaukee, a detail clavette has never gone a day without reminding himself. clavette, the Milwaukee native and LA based DJ & producer, has built his career on the fact that big things can start from humble beginnings. 
 
Relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, clavette deeply steeped himself into the music industry, working on projects for major recordings artists such as Baby Jake, as well as high profile composing clients like Chanel, Ray Ban, Nike, and Tidal. An avid French House-head, clavette started the moniker end of 2019, tirelessly preparing his sound in his home studio, using the influences of artists like DJ Falcon, Alan Braxe, and Le Knight Club of the late 90’s and early 2000’s French House scene as his guiding light. 
 
While the landscape of the live music industry changed dramatically in the early months of 2020, clavette debuted his project with an emphasis on strong digital releases focusing on songwriting, groove, and melodic nostalgia. Fast forward 2021, clavette has made quite the name for himself in only a short amount of time, blending sounds of Disco and French House with conviction. clavette has already garnered the attention of industry heavyweights like Diplo, Mark Knight, and Roger Sanchez via BBC Radio 1, Sirius XM, and KISSFM UK. Showing his foundations are rooted firmly in the traditions and history of House music, clavette aims to add his unique voice to the conversation in what he calls “French House Revival.” Having debuted a guest mix for prestigious Radio FG, as well as scoring multiple Genre Top 10 positions on Beatport and Traxsource via his releases with Toolroom Trax, Simma Black, and Deep Root Records, clavette is poised to make big strides in the coming year and beyond.
