Went into this song feeling curious how other people see me compared to how I see myself. The hook part I just freestyled knowing I was about be honest about my battle with addiction in the past and how it effects my view of myself, then the rest of the song just came out naturally expressing how addiction has effected my family in the past as well. I also touch on feelings of not knowing which direction to go with my life sometimes. I realized after recording the song that the hook sounds similar to "honestly" by Juice and Herbo and in some ways I think I did subconsciously take inspiration from that song which is cool with me and almost feels like a nod to him.
