A session @ the Vagabond pool in Fresno pool using the skate session audio from Pete Koff's video footage I created a 'tone poem' with Mike Fox's guitar audio from a    drum'n'bass surf version of Robinson Crusoe i was messing with.
This sound is sooooo relaxing to me and gets me charged to ride at the same time.

A cover of one of the BEST bands from San Jose,Ca. THE BONESHAVERS. I produced an album for them called MOTORPSYCHO and loved all of the songs they did! I always thought this song could be a bit faster so when CLAY WHEELS covered it, we stepped it up!

A instrumental surf tune written by Jonny Manak called Modoc. We were driving around Jacksonville,Oregon after skating some crete and drove by a huge barn with a Native American Indian painted on it, and after that we started calling Jonny a new name...MODOC!!

I wrote this song thinking of great skate sessions skating big open places like Uvas Dam in Gilroy or skating ditches for miles in New Mexico. Endless lines down a long and winding road that sometimes end in road rash. One true rush.

A song I wrote about the earth getting tired of the filthy humans that made her so dirty, so she stopped spinning and made gravity a memory as everything on earth got sent shooting to space and left Mother Earth fresh to grow again. It could also be about other things too.

The band has been featured on many skateboard videos, rocked many skatepark grand openings and contests plus many fabulous gigs with Mudhoney, Hightower, Gas Huffer, The Odd Numbers, Agent Orange, JFA, The Shitkickers, etc)
Biography
Clay Wheels started in the early nineties in San Jose by Ray Stevens II feeling the need to get some action music going with buds Kal Gettle and Randy Burk. After a few trips to the Northwest and shows in the Bay Area the shape of the group was constantly changing with different drummers (Todd Jackson, Julie Rose) and a fill in studio guitarist (Mike Fox) the core of the group settled when Jonny Manak was added on guitar and Eric Powers stayed put on the drum stool.
Born to Barge was recorded and released as a promo item with the Black Label Jason Adams Punk Point board and the songs were featured on 411 skate videos, skate documentaries, radio ads, etc.
The band played GvR contests for Etnies,skatepark grand openings and rocking shows.
Special guest and legendary pool skater Steve Alba is a friend of the band and plays with them from time to time!
The band is on flow from Emerica/Etnies/Don Brown!!
