Me and Millzy teamed up to bring you this flip of "Subsonic - Need Me". Huge shoutout to Drum & Bass NZ for the premiere! We were asked how the flip came to be and here's a little rundown.

Troy:

I've been wanting to work on a track/flip with Millzy for a while now but for the last couple of years I have struggled immensely with Addiction and Depression so it hasn’t been the easiest to be motivated to do anything, let alone work on music frequently but in December I decided to go completely clean off all drugs/alcohol and have been sober for over a month now which has been a huge blessing as I have never felt so productive/driven. So when Luke (Millzy) hit me up and asked if I wanted to flip 'Subsonic - Need Me' I was instantly keen and I guess the rest is history. Although the song isn’t overly complicated as far as Sound Design goes, I still think people will rate it. Instead we focused more on keeping it simple and refreshing and we are really happy with how it turned out. Hope you guys enjoy it too!


Millzy:

This collab started after I heard Troy’s flip of “Illuminate” (Check it out if you haven’t already). I messaged him and asked if he wanted to make another track in a similar style and he was keen. I sent him the original version of ‘Need Me’ and within a few hours he sent me back a flipped trap drop and it was all go from there. After a few zoom calls, and stems sent back and forth, we had it sounding how it is today. Was a lot of fun working on this flip and I hope to release much more material in the coming year.
