We take great pleasure in introducing you to HODA. This 18 year old, Bristol based head case has been blowing our socks clean off with the Sauce he's been sending and so we had no other choice but to bring you these absolute peaches entitled 'Raptor' and 'Switch Dub'. 'Raptor', otherwise known as the Sauceasaurus, starts the show with an evil soundscape littered with an assortment of grunts and growls driven by a shuffled house pattern before the monster rears its ugly yet rather spectacular head in the form of a medley of harsh bass stabs grittier than a 99 dropped on the beach. If anyones wondering if we provide this gift raptored... we don't.

Following up this behemoth is 'Switch Dub', which kicks off with a tremendously tense pad followed by some distant digital noises in the build up before erupting into a seriously cheeky plucked melody brimming with innovation as a big fat sub rumbles a complimentary rhythm underneath. This dub does exactly what it says on the tin and will switch a still room to a bouncing one no problem!

Wang return with a four-track bass house EP sure to shake rafters of raves worldwide. Offloading a handful of the scene’s hottest producers, including non-other than Dread MC, each tune sits in a similar vein but manage to create their own forward-thinking rave bounce.

Leading us in, the mighty Tenshu and Dread team up for ‘Storyteller’, a riveting and house-y, driving beat and bassline under a loose hail of sci-fi gunfire. And that second drop - hefty. Then the breaks-infused introduction of NuBass and Deppz’s ‘Jenga’ sets an eerie tone at first, leaving the dancefloor lost until the clever drop moves the vibe into a completely new area of high-energy squelch and bleeps, while ‘Brute Force’ by Inkline forms itself as precisely what it claims to be; one textured explosion taking no prisoners. Finally, Hoda’s input is a haunting array of subtle bass stabs with lush lo-fi percussion. Littered with dark vocal chops, ‘Theory’, chugs along to the finish line of Wang’s weighty 3rd release.

CLB is a refreshing face in the world of American bass music. After successfully navigating the breakbeat & house scenes for years, he made a recent transition into a heavier sound, focusing mainly on drum & bass, grime, and dubstep. In this short time, he’s gained support from legends like Noisia, My Nu Leng, S.P.Y. & Flava D to Boombox Cartel, Zeds Dead & RL Grime. Pushing new sounds is one of the main goals of his career, which is why some of the largest acts look to him as a window into the underground.

CLB’s music is a fresh reference to the many foundational sounds of the UK in the American market. His vibrant attitude comes through in his eclectic style, having provided frequent features on BBC Radio 1, Beats 1, and Rinse FM. His DJ career has landed him sets both in the UK and the US, including Masked Ball in Falmouth, Lakota in Bristol and headlining Respect in Los Angeles.  

He has had notable releases on labels such as Deadbeats, Viper Recordings, MONTA, Slow Roast, and Space Yacht Records. 2024 is shaping up to be even bigger and better than years past, and he continues to be one to watch in the American bass scene.
