Stefàn Dubs is part of the Folklore crew operating out of Toulouse, and is also the producer behind the excellent Maquis Son Sistem records. Stefàn Dubs and Folklore have been pushing their own style of contemporary, dub influenced dance music spanning Garage, Techno, House and Jungle. The Spring Tones EP is a perfect fit for Trule, drawing on these influences to create something new while remaining focused on dance floor functionality.

(EN) _ Two years after the release of their first compilation, the Omakase Recordings team, led by Goldie B and Kumanope, returns with a vibrant comeback in "Omakase Colors Vol. 2," further solidifying their reputation as sonic explorers.

This new project brings together both familiar faces from their catalog, including NxQuantize, Emahix, P Real, and Albertas, who were already present in the first volume, as well as some exciting names from the emerging French scene. Among them, you'll find the highly talented Violet Indigo, producers HI ROSIE, Tom Manzarek, RAVL, Karlita, and Gipsyan, as well as Zapp-Ared and the dynamic neo-jazz quartet Angles Morts.

Our sixth VA compilation continues in the collective spirit at the heart of Pressure Dome; here taking its fullest form. The first of its kind in the label catalogue, ‘Two [Is Greater Than] One’ sees a selection of PD regulars and friends of the label put their heads together across eight atmospheric tracks, equally as suited to the club as to solo listening. 

Those who have followed the label for a while will be no stranger to the comp’s first collaborator. Human Resources teams up with London dub techno specialist, Keplrr, on ‘Spring’: a mood-led composition where the impact is contained in atmosphere. Fragmented drum breaks are engulfed by airy synth pads and punctuated by a dancehall-indebted rhythm that marches at 90BPM. ‘Yuppel’ welcomes Noods Radio mainstay Sid Quirk aka Keppel into the mix. He is joined by label boss, Yushh, on a ruminative percussive tool, guided by cavernous drums that fabricate a vivid, immersive environment. With the guidance of Brighton’s Caldera, the journey continues with Süss Choc. The reverb-laden synth plucks on ‘evoke water droplets, and hallucinatory details echo around them to create the illusion of being in a mountainous cove.

Delay Grounds – an audiophile in the truest sense of the word – is next to take the baton. Together, he and Yushh take it up a notch on ‘Telomere’ – a full-bodied club-ready track packed with glitchy chords and giddy drums. A gnarly, Pariah-esque breakdown segues into the track’s second wind where pitched-up vocal chops accelerate it to the compilation’s energetic climax. With the help of London drum specialist, Syz, ‘Fuzbidun’ keeps our feet firmly on the dancefloor. Breakbeats are chopped and rearranged, flitting between double and half time whilst a distorted mid-bass roughens things round the edges, prepping the ground for the compilation’s move to a more inorganic feel.

Bristol don, Forever, joins Yushh next on ‘Passing Notes’ – a groove-driven club track where skittish percussion ricochets from side to side, so palpable it tempts the touch. ‘Crash Bash Party At BUFOs’ is no different. The link-up between Delay Grounds and dance music’s stalwart of musique concrète, Wordcolour, is completely idiosyncratic to both artists: the perfect combination of found-sound percussion and skillfully rehashed vocal samples. It’s up to two PD mainstays – Roy Mills and Human Resources – to close proceedings. A chugging rhythm bubbles under the surface of ‘Sycophantasy’, sending us on a dubbed-out trip before picking the pace back up again.

Our fourth physical release on the imprint sees us join forces with Hekkla for a new set of percussive explorations, with Bristol legend Manami joining us for a club-ready remix.

Since honing his skills in Martyn’s mentoring programme and contributing a killer track to the 3-part ‘It Was Always There’ compilation on 3024, the Eindhoven based artist has wasted no time in getting to work on his debut vinyl release.

‘Reverse Groove’ is the product of an extensive period of studio tinkering to find the perfect release for the label. On the A-side, ‘Going In’ sets the tone with a slice of grime-adjacent UK inspired broken techno, followed up by the title-track ‘Reverse Groove’, a techno banger which combines dancefloor functionality with tripped-out synths ready to scramble heads on the dancefloor.

The B-side sees Hekkla’s broken club sound in full effect on ‘Hardcore Memories’, whilst Bristol’s newest legend Manami morphs the title track into a peak-time trance-adjacent banger.

Rounding off the release are two digital bonus tracks too good to leave out, ‘Snake Charmer’ and ‘Limp Riddim’, essential tools to find their way onto the sticks of club and home DJs alike.

Watching from the window, it was clear to tell that nobody was home. The rain rattled against the glass and the frame shook from time to time as the wind howled in the cold darkness of the night. All evening had been spent watching, waiting and pacing. Surely they should be home by now?

It was hard to think of oneself as a voyeur yet chance after chance had lead to the miserable, mysterious circumstances by which now must be lived.

Every time the glow of some car headlights passed was enough to stir and shake the senses no end. Hopefully the taxi would return soon and put this sense of urgent dread to bed for one evening.

No Sir is a Brooklyn based DJ and producer who has released music on the likes of 3024 & W133. Now they step up to Faux Poly with a punchy release which fully establishes them as an artist. No Sir reflects on the inspiration behind the record below:

“I started producing this EP at a really challenging moment last summer after I got a concussion that left me pretty much bed bound for a month. During this time I also quit drinking, so my relationship to music and going to clubs saw a complete overhaul. This EP is my attempt to find a space in between the hours spent at my quiet apartment and my return to these loud, dark spaces I see as another kind of home. The title track, Voyeur, was the first piece of music I made after the injury”

As sound systems fall silent across the country in response to COVID-19, we’ve seen our party series Cabin Fever grind to a halt.

Although it was hard watching months of careful planning and hard work erased, we recognise the impact of this crisis goes much deeper than a few cancelled parties, so we decided to channel our energy into something more positive.

'Remote Access' is a collection of music sourced from both core members of our CF family, and a handful of our favourite producers operating in the UKs underground scene.

100% of proceeds for this release will go towards The Trussell Trust, supporting a nationwide network of food banks which are currently under an unprecedented level of pressure.
